Bound to the moon
A low growl ripped through the silence.
The warriors stiffened, weapons drawn. From the mist between the trees, a wolf lunged, but not like any wolf I had ever seen. Its fur was streaked with ash and shadow, its eyes burning with the same blue light as the runes. Symbols were carved into its skin, glowing as if alive.
“Back!” Kael barked, shoving me behind him as he shifted halfway, claws ripping from his hands.
The wolf hit hard, slamming into two warriors and sending them sprawling. It fought like a creature possessed, faster and stronger than anything natural.
