I needed to hold her. The day passed by, and I refused to pull away from Harper. As the sun began to drift lower in the sky, my hopes for a miracle were dwindling. Just as my eyes started to drift closed, I heard a light tapping on the window. Peering across the room, I narrowed my gaze on a large white owl that seemed rather determined to come in. I eased myself off the bed and went over to unlock the latch. The owl took its chance and flew into the room.

I drew the curtain in vain because the entire room reminded me of him, but at least nothing in that room brought old memories to life again. Right then, there was a soft knock on the window glass. I frowned as I cautiously slid the curtain by an inch to see what made that sound. On the snow of the window sill perched a snowy white owl, gazing at me with its large yellow eyes. It tapped on the window again with one of its claws, and my heart skidded. In my chest. That’s something I taught Snow White to do. I instantly opened the window, and the owl flew to me, almost crashing against me. I wrapped my palms around it and it dropped into my stretched out palms, spreading out its wings.

The lamps were turned on as soon as we hit the road and the way didn’t seem to look that shabby now. Jason winked at me. “She knows we have arrived.” He said and started walking a bit faster. I know he was much eager to meet his girlfriend. After walking for like five minutes we were in front of a small house at the end of the road. The house was simple and kind of cute with the flowers and plants decorating its ceiling. The door was made of an old oak tree and there was an owl sitting in front of the door. His eyes were glued on me and I swear I feel goose bumps by staring back at him. I feel drawn towards its yellow pearls. I feel it was peering inside my soul.
