Normally my average punches hurt my fellow wolves. Why aren't they working right now? Before I can figure out what is different, Jannah punches me again. This time her blow lands directly on my adam's apple, and my anger leaves me. I gag and grab my neck with both hands as she kicks my legs out from under me.

I gave a weak wave at the crowd as Dani tugged me toward the first step into the giant whale pool. "Here you go." The trainer held up a bucket. "Zoe's going to splash you guys again and open her mouth. You'll toss the food in, and when you're finished with that, all you need to do his hold up your hand for a high five. It’s not over till it's over. I walk unsteadily over to Whiro and straddle his chest. He goes to throw a punch, so I grab his hand and apply as much pressure as I can to where his fingers used to be. He screams, temporarily distracted by the pain, and I take the chance to land repeated punches to his face. These punches don’t hold even a fraction of the force my punches usually hold. For all I know, to him, they just feel like a love tap and I’m wasting my time, but when I see the signs of blood seeping from under the balaclava I know I’ve at least done some damage.
