After Five Years
The morning sky, once grey, was beginning to brighten, as if whispering to me that it was time to let go.
It was time to close the old book and open a new chapter.
With a heavy breath, I stepped away, leaving Sean, the past, and all the wounds that had once bound me.
I had just stepped out of the cafe when suddenly I heard fast footsteps behind me.
“Aisha, wait!” Sean’s voice called out desperately.
I ignored him, quickening my pace toward the parking lot. But in an instant, a rough hand grabbed my wrist, forcibly stopping me.
“Aisha, please listen to me!” Sean pleaded, his tone desperate.
