When I enter, I quietly close the door behind me and fish for the lock in the darkness, my hands shaking so much I almost give up and cry. Once I've finally locked myself in the dark room that I have no idea of what it's purpose is, I run my hands over the wall and find the light switch. All the lights flicker to life in an instant and a rather large movie room is revealed. Even with all the perfectly laid out blankets, comfy-looking chairs, a gigantic movie screen and a snack bar, the first thing I notice is the 'emergency exit' sign and it's bright red lighting.

Prologue When I was a child, I enjoyed listening to my mother's stories. Portraying the never-ending struggle between darkness and light. I would always look forward to her stories, which would be very entertaining. She always told me darkness represents malevolence, while light represents positivity and virtue. Her belief was that the power of light was the sole means by which darkness could be defeated. The resounding message she would consistently convey in her stories is that light will perpetually prevail over the darkness.

I stepped closer to my pillar and read the words aloud: "In the heart of darkness, light must shine, But alone, its glow will fade with time. By shadow’s grace, the light is freed, Together, they are one in need." Evelina joined me, reading the rest of the inscription on her side: "Through dusk and dawn, they dance as one, For without the dark, the light is undone. When both are present, the truth is clear, Together they guide, without fear." She met my eyes, understanding lighting up in her expression. "It’s a test of balance—light and dark. Both need to work in unity to move forward."

The goddess eyed me sceptically. “Ask it.” She demanded rather than invited. “You said, in order to defeat the darkness, you must first defeat the light.” I paused. A part of me hoped that what I was about to say was wrong. That I had got the complete wrong end of the stick. But the gnawing pain in my heart told be otherwise. “You are yet to ask me a question.” “The darkness is Tenebris?” I ask. “Yes.” “The light…” gulping back the tears that threatened to spill over, “Then the light must mean….”

It was a being of pure darkness, its form shifting and swirling like smoke in the wind. "You have come far, mortal," the figure intoned, its voice a chilling whisper that echoed through the darkness. "But do you have the strength to face your deepest fears?" Elara stood tall, her heart filled with determination. "I am not alone," she said, her voice ringing out with clarity. "With Aric by my side, I can face anything." And with those words, she unleashed a torrent of light that engulfed the shadowy figure, banishing it back into the depths of the realm from whence it came. In its place, a blinding light erupted, illuminating the darkness and revealing a path leading back to the world above.

I felt ropes of hot come coat the walls of my vagina then everything went dark. Sun rays warmed my face and I groaned. Or at least in most stories, each of them is considered rather evil creatures, children of Darkness. But there are stories where even messengers of Light, beings who should deal better with temptation than we, weak humans, sometimes succumb to the power of the Darkness. There are also times when the children of the Darkness discover such feelings as love, which in turn draws them to the Light. Many times the being from Light connects with the one from Darkness, creating a beautiful, but always very sad and desperate love story - because in most cases neither Light nor Darkness want their representatives to mix with each other.

I clear my voice and took a deep breath as I mentally prepare myself to read this monstrosity. ’I love you. I know for a fact that I will never be able to understand why you question how much I do... But you have given me something I’ve never had. And that’s my shadow. Love isn’t selfless, sweet, or innocent. Love is dark, selfish, and passionate. And I wouldn’t have known what love genuinely was without you. Love is a dangerous drug with intoxicating feelings as side effects. You may think being my shadow is terrible, but what is light without its darkness? What’s a life without the inevitable death? You must realize how much you mean to me, right? I even made this sappy speech for you. But
