Axel had once told her that as a wolf, she would age more slowly than the average human, though she doubted she was actually twice her age. She was almost seventeen in human years. How old was she in wolf years? Twelve? Eight? His eyes moved from her face to her wrist and he saw the glowing blue bracelet. He frowned and sat up to take her wrist. "What's that?" He asked, turning her wrist. The bracelet caught the sunlight spilling from the window behind Eric and sparkled, throwing off shades of blue. Who knew that something so beautiful would be so deadly to her?

But she couldn’t explain it away, not when she looked at his mouth from which two teeth were protruding now. No, not teeth. Fangs! Pointy, sharp fangs like those of an animal. Like a Sabertooth tiger. She couldn’t think it, no, because to think it made it real. It couldn’t be real. It didn’t exist. He didn’t exist, not like that.

The Moon Goddess sending them the visual images lightened up the mood substantially now for Alexi and Nicolas. Nicolas and Alexi hardly ever watch TV, they are working on pack business, averting the next crisis, extensive training, and lots of sex. Tonight, they held each other while they decided what to watch on TV. They weren't in the mood for twilight, as even the Vampires had to fight off their own king. They watched "Teen Wolf", that would bring them a lot of eyes rolling and laughter. The movie was silly and not what werewolves are like at all. It was a fun movie though, and they could laugh.

The sanctuary was quiet in the late afternoon, the kind of peaceful stillness that felt almost unnatural after years of constant war. Most of the guards had settled into the outer buildings, keeping watch in shifts but staying out of the main house like Ronan had ordered. I was leaving this hellhole, but I wasn't leaving empty-handed. In the center of the shimmering magic circle lay a small, white piece of bone. It was my mother's finger bone. She was the previous White Wolf, and she died protecting this pack. She left me nothing but this bone, which acted as a battery powering the defensive barrier of the territory.

"Oh my god... It's huge!" "I know right?! Look at its fangs!" I squinted my eyes at the large brown rogue, observing its blood stained fangs. Finally, I caught a glimpse of its dark incisors. Judging by its dark blue fangs, it was at least a B-rank. A wolf's rank can be determined by the color of its incisors. The scale ranges from white–the weakest, to indigo–the strongest. All pups start at white. Omegas like me can only reach pink at best, while betas can get to blue, which is rare. Alphas can achieve the highest indigo fangs. My teeth are still white, the same as the pups.
