Owned By My Father's Rival

Owned By My Father's Rival

Lucien grabbed Elena's hand. "Run." --- They ran through the gates. Down the road. Into the trees. Behind them, the mansion burned. Not from the fire alarm. From something else. Something Alexei had planned all along. Marina stopped. Looked back. "Alexei," she whispered. "He knew," Elena said. "He knew he wasn't going to survive the night. He knew Volodya would come for him. He knew burning the evidence was the only way." "He burned the evidence?"

Desire and Danger; A Billionaire's Game of Lust and Power

The records were gone. Alexander arrived at the mansion twenty minutes after Hector's call, having been in the car within sixty seconds of receiving it, and stood in the doorway of the ruined annex with the smell of smoke hanging in the air around him and the blackened remnants of twelve years of documentation reduced to a stratum of ash on the floor where the cabinet had stood. He looked at it for a long time. Then he took out his phone and called Simon. "The annex," he said. "I know," Simon said. "We saw it on the exterior cameras. It wasn't accidental, Alexander. The point of origin is the cabinet specifically, the fire moved outward from there, not inward toward it. Someone placed an acc

The Legitimate Lycan King

It made me think of what happened in the movies where there's a secret room for the library. "Hi." I went to the librarian to ask her. She instantly recognized me. "I am looking for some history books about our town. Do you know where I can find them?" "I am afraid you won't be able to find it." She replied. "Why?" I raised my brow. "They were all burned years ago." She explained. "I think it was also the same date where you were found by the sisters in the convent."

Forgotten Embers

Forgotten Embers

she stopped herself, shifting her shoulders as she weighed the statement, "not a lot that we have left of it, anyway." "Why's that?" Avera asked with interest. "It was all lost," Kara told her, issuing a glance in her direction. "You know," she added, "during the Great Fire." Avera looked at her, unknowing, and she began to elaborate. "See, Stephan prided himself on his public works projects, and one of his crowning achievements was this really illustrious library he had built. All of the official documents and the entirety of the collections of the Royal Library were stored there, and when the city burned, the books burned with it," Kara stated, continuing to search through the catalogue. "

Fake Vow, True Luna

Fake Vow, True Luna

I had to make things right, not just for Olivia and the twins, but for everyone. Picking up the phone, I dialed Layla’s number, hoping she’d have a solution for one of our most significant losses—the library. Layla’s pack had a long history of maintaining the largest collection of books and scrolls in the region, and I hoped she could lend her expertise. After a few rings, Layla’s familiar voice greeted me. “Nathan? To what do I owe the pleasure?” “Layla,” I began, my voice strained with weariness. “We need your help. The library’s gone—destroyed in the last attack. We’ve lost countless records, books, and ancient texts.”

The Rejected Luna’s Secret Crown

The Rejected Luna’s Secret Crown

"Open the palace reserves. Empty the noble estates Darius confiscated. No one in this city goes hungry while there is a single crumb in the royal pantries. Understood?" "Understood, General," Jinx nodded, making a note on her datapad. "And while Jinx secures the rations," Ashren said, straightening up and fixing his golden eyes on me, "we deal with the parasite on the table. Darius is dead, but if he's haunting that steel, we need to know how to permanently exorcise him." "Darius burned the Royal Library during his purge," I reminded him. "He didn't want the people remembering the Old Laws. The warlocks tossed millions of books into the courtyard and set them on fire. There’s no one left who

The billionaire’s contracted wife

The billionaire’s contracted wife

The Mediterranean gleamed under a cloudless sky, but her mission brought no romance. Noor had been Echo’s embedded cultural intelligence liaison during the Balkan operations. She had flagged several covert ops as "non-compliant”—meaning illegal. In return, Echo’s former leadership had branded her a rogue, then quietly leaked enough information to paint her as unstable. Rafael had intervened—removing her, faking her death, and placing her into a civilian identity as an archivist in a coastal library. That’s where Lena headed now. The Bibliotheca Alexandrina was built like a sun-disk pressed against the sea. Inside, its long sloping walls housed millions of texts—most untouched, silent testame

“I love to read. I suppose I have enough time to read anything and everything. I love escaping into a good book.” “You will LOVE the library here in Atlesper. It’s enormous, and even has a few recovered scrolls from the Great Library of Alexandria,” she smirks. My eyes widen to the size of saucers, “You don’t…” “We do,” she grins, “Was a shame how this epicentre of knowledge slowly dwindled over time, not to mention the accidental burning by Julius Caesar. We managed to save a few items and they have lived here ever since.” “I would truly love to see them sometime,” I say hopefully.

Another amazing book! I feel as though each book is my favorite in this series and I love the representation. This particular author has an amazing way of challenging vernacular and using it to empower her characters. Her world building has you vested in the outcome of the story and characters.

Another excellent book! I couldn't put it down that I finished reading it in a day. anxiously waiting for book 6 to finish--not a fan of cliffhangers:) Or I may go back and re-read the series while I wait.

The Troll Queen's Bride

The Troll Queen's Bride

Woe betide my father who summoned Eleleth in the first place. We sat in the center as Gullinkambi squawked in the rigging, glowing feathers like a lighthouse lighting our way. “What was your favorite thing you saw in your travels, Yola?” I asked quietly, delicately eating bit by bit so as not to upset my stomach. “The Library of Alexandria,” she swooned. “So many tomes. So little time to read. It was as delightful as wine.” I smiled, and we talked of little things, big things, and all we had missed in our lives.
