THE MAFIA'S PRICE

THE MAFIA'S PRICE

Flames roared to life, devouring wood and metal with insatiable hunger. The inferno spread greedily, orange tongues licking up walls, black smoke billowing into the sky like a signal flare to Alexei wherever he hid. Dante stood motionless, watching it burn, the heat searing his skin but doing nothing to thaw the ice in his veins. This was just the beginning. Alexei's backups, his suppliers, his allies, his hidden networks, would all feel the blaze. Every contact traced through Anton's leaked logs would be next: safehouses razed, convoys ambushed, lieutenants hunted down in their beds.

The Billionaire's Temporary Mistress

The Billionaire's Temporary Mistress

"This was the first truth we ever told each other." A gust of wind howls through the open balcony door, carrying the scent of rain and something darker “Gasoline.” We look down in unison. Twenty stories below, a bonfire rages in a Blackstone-branded dumpster. Flames lick at shredded documents, their embers swirling upward like reverse snowfall. Someone's burning the archives. “Good.” The nondescript downtown office smells of fresh paint and possibility. Lillian grins from her wheelchair, slapping a label on a cardboard box with enough force to make her IV pole rattle:

The mafia’s captive

The mafia’s captive

“This… this isn’t just war anymore. This is extermination.” Viktor handed the file to Bain. “We’ll need the Vulture to distribute this. The world has to see it. The moment this hits, Valeria will be hunted by every nation.” Bain nodded but said nothing. His hands were clenched into fists, knuckles pale. The man who ruled empires was quiet now, standing in a room of ruined innocence. Then, quietly, almost inaudibly, he said, “Burn it down.” Within minutes, the Suez Club was reduced to ash. The girls were rescued and rushed to safety. Medical teams and counselors arrived. Reporters were barred—but not for long.

The Burning

The Burning

"I was part of a special unit. We were... we were tasked with monitoring certain threats—natural disasters, potential wars, that kind of thing. But then we started hearing rumors. Whispers about something bigger. Something we couldn’t control." He paused, his jaw clenching. "We were told to keep it quiet. Not to panic the public. That there were plans in place to handle it. But those plans... they were too late. By the time we realized how bad it was going to get, it was already happening. The fires, the destruction... The Burning wasn’t an accident, Maya. It was inevitable." I felt like the floor had just dropped out from under me. My mind reeled, trying to make sense of what he was saying.

MY CRUEL PROTECTOR

MY CRUEL PROTECTOR

The only light came from the violet-hued glow of the sub’s dashboard and the faint, rhythmic pulse of the scarab key, which I had slotted into the vessel’s navigation port. "Tell me again why we’re diving into a graveyard," Nevan’s voice crackled through the internal comms. Even at the bottom of the ocean, his voice was a grounded, masculine comfort. "The Library of Alexandria didn't burn to the ground, Nevan," I whispered, my eyes fixed on the sonar screen. "The physical books did. But the knowledge—the lineage of the Architects—was moved. My mother’s notes said Thorne built a facility within the ruins of the royal quarter, submerged by earthquakes centuries ago. It’s the only place shielde

Alexandria

Alexandria

She was still scared but it didn't affect me so much now I was in front of him. "What is your name?" He asked me looking into my eyes as if he was taking away all my pain and fear. "Alexandria." "Mine is Aden." His name suited him I could already imagine him being called 'Alpha Aden of Midnight Warrior pack'. "Why did you cry my little wolf?" "She is scared of you," I replied in a short sentence too scared to say too much. "Your wolf?" He asked surprised when I nodded, he then turned to my Alpha, "I need to talk to you."

MY STEPBROTHER ALPHA'S DIRTY OBSESSION

MY STEPBROTHER ALPHA'S DIRTY OBSESSION

"I'm not more important than anyone else." "To Viktor, you are." Her voice is sharp. "If he gets you, none of this matters. The pack falls. Kael falls. Everything." I want to argue, but she's right, and I hate that she's right. We reach the library just as the first explosion shakes the mansion. The floor trembles beneath my feet. Books tumble from shelves. Somewhere above us, glass shatters. Maya stumbles. I catch her arm. "What was that?" "Fire bombs." Her face goes pale. "Viktor's wolves use them to breach fortifications." Another explosion, closer this time.

Phoenix Cry

Phoenix Cry

I took my book and I lit my index finger with fire and tried burning the book. "They got us there". Zale said and sighed getting his own book and tried to toss it in the ocean. I stopped my fire and stopped him. "Well, as we are back to square one, let's just try to gather information from the northern part," I said and smiled at him. I put my book inside my bag again. It was pointless anyway, to burn the book. It is the book of origin, a book written by the Gods, it is protected from being harmed by anything, by anyone.

THE ALPHA KING'S CLAIM

THE ALPHA KING'S CLAIM

Serena returned to her seat after a minute and the general did the same. “Phanteon used to have a collection of historical documents in the Royal Depository and Library, Your Majesty, but your father ordered to burn all of them down,” he confessed. “It was supposed to be a secret but I knew about it because I was the one who brought all those scrolls and books from the library to the Baltic Meadow’s deserted border. He employed a witch to create a rune that would torch all the pages to ashes.” “Did he tell you why he did so?” I asked, finding this unusual. No one would do such a thing unless they were hiding something.

Empress Wolfe
Easily one of my fave fantasy reads. The character development of the ML is just *chef's kiss* The plot, the setting, the characters... Everything about this story pulled me right in. I'm really looking forward to reading Lord Hale's and the triplets' story! Keep up the good work!

I originally read this one on a different reading app and absolutely LOVED it! By far, still one of my favorite stories. I re-read it on here. Not like all of the other same story line shifter stories.
