Temujin made an uppercut and the fire bird shadowed his movements by first hovering like a crest affronté under the enemy ship’s bow and then streaking upwards with a raptorial screech and a fiery roar. Next, Temujin spread out all his fingers as he thrust his hand forward. In response, his red bird skimmed over the enemy ship’s deck and the pirates scampered. Sasha and Aki watched with fingers crossed as the fire bird glided towards the junco’s foremast. They couldn’t see everything but it appeared as though the fiery red color started to fade and turn into a cool blue. Sasha

The air witches use air to push them back and into the flames. Oh crap the fire witches are starting to weaken and can't keep this pace much longer. We would not make it. I can’t breathe.” She stepped even closer, ignoring the heat that tried to push her back. “Let me anchor you. Just look at me.” He lifted his hand but the dark flame jumped from his palm like a living thing. It arched into the air and split open in the shape of wings made of fire. They stretched wide behind him, crackling with heat so intense the air rippled.

He could feel the sweat beading on his forehead as he drew close, the sting of the saltwater in his eyes as the droplets caught in his eyelashes on their passage down to his cheeks. “There is no pain,” she was as shocked by the development as he was. “The flames do not burn me.” He reached out carefully but could not touch the flames. They burnt as hot as dragon flame. “They do not burn me, but I can feel their heat,” he told her. “Flaming wings… That was… not what I expected.” “Me either,” she looked at him wild-eyed. “Do you suppose that I could…” “Yes,” he followed her gaze when she looked skywards. “Do it, Ember.”

“Hey! I will save you, hold on.” Seeing Andy arrive, a ray of hope radiated from the old man's face, then he fainted from inhaling too much smoke. Andy looked around, searching for any usable tools. However, he found nothing. Suddenly, wings emerged from behind his back; he flapped his wings and then placed the two men on his shoulders. The fire moved aside, making his path smooth without any obstacles. Andy walked without fear, his hands, and face now feeling severe burns as he approached the door. He didn't realize his wings had disappeared, and Andy burst out carrying the two men on his shoulders.
