It could be night, and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. After a half mile, a strange rock formation comes into startling focus. We simply drop into a clearing, and there it is, a circle of stones, overgrown with moss and vines. I haven’t seen anything like this–ever. I’ve read about them, of course. There are a few ruins scattered across the Allied Kingdoms, mostly in Eastonia, but there are a few in Crescent Falls, as well. But this one is still in use. Eldric pushed me forward through the crowd. People moved aside, muttering. “Witch,” someone said lowly. I kept my head high, but inside my stomach twisted. This is bad. This feels too much like that night. Lysandra raised her hands, and the bells stopped. The square went quiet. She smiled, her voice carried authority “My pack. My family. The Moon Goddess has spoken to me in dreams. She says it is time to heal our wounds and have Luna again.” Gasps rippled through the crowd.

"We start at nightfall." The witches moved at once. They placed candles in the room high up. They talked in low tones to one another. They collected rocks, plants and radiant stones. Their robes were as waves of shadows. One of the witches moved the bed aside and cleared the middle of the room. Another had drawn upon the floor a great circle with white chalk. Silas was wobbling and yet resolute. Take Daria and put her in the circle. They helped me stand. My legs wobbled. They took me into the circle, and I was holding Harriet.
