Chapter 3 Alex I don’t know why my dad insists I go to this stupid elder ceremony. I know we have to be nice to them and pretend to get along, but I was really looking forward to a nice run on the equinox. We don’t have to shift except for on the full moon, but any type of celestial holiday or event our wolves tend to get a little pent up. There was no chance I would be able to shift in front of a coven of witches. I doubt half of them have ever even seen an actual werewolf in person.

"It's your promise, Sevina... You must never break it." The words from the late Queen hovered in her head as Queen Sevina mused about her decisions. She had given her word to the previous King and Queen and it was a rule among the witches to always live up to their promise. If she did one thing that would betray them, she would lose her immortality and her freedom... she would be sent back to Mysticia and will no longer be given the chance to see the humans again. It was one thing she didn't want to ever happen, and that was why she took the risk and agreed to everything.

The witch gestured them to sit but there weren’t any chairs to sit on. She snapped her fingers and four orange bean chairs popped out of nowhere. Angela didn’t hesitate and walked forward, sitting uncomfortably on one of the chairs. Miles rushed to sit beside her while Kale and Justin walked up to the chairs expecting the worst. She was unpredictable. They were taking heavy risks. In the snap of a finger, she could do unimaginable things to them but they needed to take this risk to do greater things. “We need your help,” Kale said eyeing the cinnamon witch greedily.

I say mockingly, "you can only stand against me if I'm powerless. Pathetic witches..." "You're strong, but not smart," she mocked back smirking. "You underestimated us, so thanks to that. And this is where your history ends. Now? Farewell, Kael." The witches' incantations grew louder, it sucking my strength even more. My breath became struggle which made me clutched my chest. "H-How dare you!" I groaned. The witch let out a shrill cackle, as the wolves rushes towards me. She yell, "Smash all the wolves of the Cursedmoon pack! Kids, adults, Females or males wipe them out!"

It was winter period when I first found my mate, she was beautiful and fair, had skin as white as snow, her hair was as flowy as velvet, and she had the voice of an angel. Perhaps, I was biased because she was mine, but it was the truth, one thing that kept me from pursuing her at first was that she was a witch. We werewolves and witches were not that close, we tend to get on each other’s nerves, so I knew my father would not approve, he was big on keeping to the rules.

Soon all the knives were raised in the air on another hand— Rosie and other witches started spelling while controlling monsters balanced under them. "BUAAAAAHHHHHHH!" The monsters growled as soon as their bodies started pulling towards the cage. "Phasmatos Tribum!" The witches yelled at the top of their lungs. "Buahhhhh!" The monsters started flying in the air. Their bodies are not in their control anymore. I closed my eyes while collecting all of our knives together. The witches made them gather together, and I made the door with all the knives, caging them inside. Rosie looked at me while giving me a signal.

“Fine. Let’s just get this over with.” The witches begin moving, their steps measured, skirts brushing against the painted sigils. Ardan stays near the door, his arms folded, jaw tight. He’s not a witch, but his presence is both protective and restless…like he’s ready to drag Lumina out if things turn bad. They form a half-circle around the table. Candles are shifted into position, herbs placed in a small clay dish. The sharp scent of mugwort rises as one of the women crushes it between her fingers.

I can feel the power in their steps, the urgency in their movements. The path ahead is dark, but we have the scent of the Wendigos to guide us. They won’t escape. Not while I’m Alpha. *** Alex The air is thick with the smell of burning flesh, the stench of decay, and the metallic scent of the witches' blood. Through the trees, I see the women, their hands are raised, their faces contorted in concentration, but it’s clear they’re fighting a losing battle. Thirteen witches, different forms of magic crackling around them, battling the Wendigos in a desperate fight. Fire, water, wind, earth — each witch wields strong power, but their faces are pale with exhaustion.

I joined Kade on the couch, and Tom moved to sit with us. Kade breathed. “I couldn’t find a witch to locate the invisible that escaped. I hoped to find a rogue witch, at the least, that I could talk into helping us, but I couldn’t find any. However, I found this. Got it from a rogue werewolf.” He held up a metal object, something like a handcuff, which I hadn’t noticed on the floor earlier. “What’s that?” I asked. “It’s a dark object used to restrain witches. Once cuffed around their wrists, their magic is neutralised until taken off.” He explained.

They rallied, their voices rising in unison, a dark chorus that filled the clearing with a palpable dread. My witch pivoted, one hand slicing through the air as another bolt of lightning erupted from her palm. It struck a second witch, the force sending her crashing to the ground in a cloud of smoke and sparks. The power radiating from Evelina was mesmerizing; it was as if the storm itself had chosen her as its weapon. The remaining witches charged, their dark forms darting like shadows. My heart raced, a primal instinct urging me to intervene.
