ORLA The wind kicked up around us as Daniel started to transform into a very large wolf. Fur sputed out from his skin, claws burst out from his hands, and his normal breathing was replaced by howls and growls. Bones snapped, flesh broke apart and then fused together in equal measure. With his transformation complete, he let out a roar as loud as a dozen trumpets. He didn't come for us immediately, but hung behind as the two rogues behind him leaped into action, howling and barking very much like their lupine subordinates.

I had hope that it wouldn't just happen now. But like every other year, at this point I would wish that my name wasn't my name. Johnny rolled his eyes, making no attempts to stop the witch as she stormed out of the kitchen. He produced croaking sounds with an admixture of coughing and snorted contentedly. I gathered more energy to take them out one by one. “Stand down!” Their leader in the cowboy hat stalked through the door, gazing at the scene. “This is what happens when you disrespect the white wolf. She is a gift. We are winning our war because of her powers. The scales are finally tipped in our favor...” What? The energy moved out of me into a storm—a small storm with gale-force winds that knocked the hunters into one another. The leader knelt in front of my cage, mumbling some prayer. Others followed his lead. These men were getting crazier and crazier.

My hands were shaking, but my eyes were more determined than ever. Suddenly— BOOM! A deafening explosion ripped a hole straight through the control room's heavy steel doors! Three fully frenzied rogue wolves rushed in, their eyes blood-red, their razor-sharp claws aiming straight for me. My mind went blank. In a split second, Wyatt let out an earth-shattering Alpha roar! He shifted instantly. Bones snapping and reforming, he exploded into a massive, dark-gold snow wolf. With the crushing, terrifying aura of a Supreme Alpha, he lunged forward. One swipe of his massive claws tore the three frenzied wolves to shreds!

he winked. "Get out before you die. I won't ask again," Zylon said. Even in this situation, he maintained a calm demeanor. "No, we want to have those two. C'mon, share with us," another rogue said with a wink. What happened next was a blur of movement. Zylon transformed into a large, tall wolf with striking black and white fur. His hind legs, belly, tail, and part of his face were white. He lunged at the rogue who was speaking, lacerating his throat mid-shift. Swiftly, he moved on to the next rogue, taking him down as well. Zylon was agile, moving with cat-like stealth. The remaining rogues were taken aback by his sudden ferocity. The wolf took his position beside me again, scanning the rogu
