A jet of "Zero-Point" steam erupted from a nearby seal, the vibration nearly knocking Ethan off the ledge. The "Acoustic Noise" was deafening—a "System-Collapse" of sound that signaled the beginning of the end for the Sovereign grid. The Sovereign Counter-Strike "Ethan! They’re here!" Leo’s voice was a "Raw" shriek of alarm.

Julian asked, his hand sliding toward the heavy tactical knife at his belt. "Four. No, five," I corrected, my voice trembling. "They’re using the same masking tech I have. My sensors can barely pick them up." "Then they can't see us either," Julian reasoned. "They don't need to see us, Julian. They have sonic trackers. They’re listening for our heartbeats." As if on cue, a soft ping echoed through the tunnel. It was a sonar pulse, high-pitched and painful. "Elias, suppressors!" I commanded.

The high-frequency vibration of the sonic net was liquefying my thoughts. A high-pitched, agonizing hum vibrated through the bones of my skull, blinding my eyes with a layer of static white noise. Every nerve in my body was misfiring, my muscles locked into a rigid, helpless paralysis against the wet concrete. Beneath me, Dominic let out a low, choked growl, his fingers twitching against the floorboards as the acoustic frequencies systematically short-circuited his Lycan nervous system.

Every electronic device in the room sparked and died. The hunters closest to me were thrown backwards by the force of the sound. They hit walls and furniture and lay there stunned or unconscious. Marcus had his hands over his ears and was staring at me with shock and something that might have been fear. I kept screaming until the power was exhausted and my voice gave out. Then I ran for the door, leaping over fallen hunters and dodging the ones who were still trying to recover from the sonic blast.

Three Alphas each dodged, gracefully jumping to the side. Alex pulled out her sonic pistol, ran backwards for a bit, and aimed at the closest one. The gun charged up and opened its dish shaped barrel. When the green light blinked Alex pulled the trigger and an unheard note shot out of the barrel and into the first Alpha.
