Jaxon As if today hadn’t brought enough mental angst, bombs fucking detonated around Xavier’s house. Either it was bombs or somebody shooting rocket launchers around his property. He had no idea what was going on, but that we were the target and had to get the fuck out immediately. When the first explosion rocked the property, one of Xavier’s armed men had fallen into him. He must’ve lost his balance, but Xavier knocked him out of the chair and we’d fallen to the floor. Gray smoke filled the room.

Xander's POV Hearing the gunshots, I swiftly turned around, my gun clenched tightly in my hands, ready to defend myself and my men. To my dismay, I found them sprawled on the ground, incapacitated, while Xavier stood tall beside them, a smirk of satisfaction etched on his face. The revelation shook me to my core. My own cousin, the perpetrator of such a betrayal? I had spared his life once; was this the gratitude I received in return?

It may be mistaken for wild animals, but the constant movement of red dotted light every ten seconds tells me otherwise. People are here, they’ve surrounded the cottage, and I’m sure they’re not here to say hello or wish us to be merry. He bent down beside me, hauling a backpack under the bed, which landed with a thud on the mattress. His calculated moves only heightened the fear that’s slowly waking me up. “X,” I licked my dry lips as he began assembling a handgun from the box.

Felix continued to shake his head. He didn't even bother to say another word. He had never felt the need to explain himself to anyone. He would never deny something he had done, but this situation was entirely different. First, whether Nocturno was a Super S-rank wanted criminal or not, he was indeed a killer. Luckily, they won and Xio died. Xiomerrah fired a lot of bullets when the night creatures started to run towards them to attack. At that point, Xio was so sure that she'll win the fight or war she started but her right hand, James, was hesitant. He knows that the guns and bullets Xio prepared are enough to kill them all but the thing is, their opponents are more numerous than the two of them. Also, they aren't human like them, and they have a lot of capabilities and strength to fight the two of them.

Xander is still close enough to direct his remaining men but careful enough to stay off the main roads and out of direct sight. He is preparing for something that requires supplies and distance from the city.

Xavier resisted the urge to wipe the passive look on the doctor's face as he discussed death like it was the weather but remembering that he had witnessed so many that it paled in severity, he looked away. "Whatever is really going on needs to be resolved soon. Floors don't have fingerprints and sperm was found in her private parts and the use of force was detected." Xavier shuddered. "Just saying." He muttered and left before Maya could act on the urge to jump him, ruin his well-ironed scrubs and order him not to talk about something so brutal, so cold so casually, and with such nonchalance. "I hate him," Xavier whispered. "Yes, that doctor is something."

It better not be what he was fucking thinking! “No casualties. In and out with a minimum of noise. Clear?” Xavier fixed each man with a piercing look. At their muttered understanding, he continued. “I’ll take the lead engaging the target. Your only job is securing an exit route. Ready weapons.” Their car idled conspicuously until the nearest sentry approached to confront them. Before the man could bark out more than a harsh command to move along, Xavier’s blade found his throat with serpent-like speed and efficiency. Dragging the choking guard behind cover buying precious seconds, Xavier led the charge towards the entrance at a dead sprint.
