It was a Christmas of firsts for both Felix and Cassie. For Felix, this was the first time that his house had ever been decorated for Christmas. In the past, he had put up a plastic miniature tree if he remembered and while Hazel had still been alive, she had put up a menorah for the December festivities. Now, the decorations started right from the gates to the mansion, with the pathway leading to the house lined with colorful reindeer figurines, giant candy canes and plastic snowmen. The house was decked in strings of flashing Christmas lights that Felix was certain would be visible from space.

I'd needed closure. When Christmas came, Liam decided that we should have a grand celebration and therefore, we spent the day at the Novaks' mansion. Zoe and her parents went on vacation for the holidays, visiting some family in Florida where her mom grew up. I was sad to not have my friend for the holidays, but we did exchange presents before she left.

Skylar holding a huge bouquet of roses, looking uncharacteristically nervous. The moment my team saw him, they exchanged knowing looks and started cheering for him. "Good luck, Mr. Skylar!" He took a deep breath and held the roses out to me, his expression unusually serious. "Suzanna, you caught my attention from the first time we collaborated. And everything that happened after that only showed me how strong and kind you are.

Arthur tells me. “What are your Christmas traditions?” Max asks; he’s finally back with us. “Ah, the Christmas spirit is designed for children. On the 4th, we hold our Christmas fancy dress party, and we always put our Christmas trees up on the 13th. This vacation was going to be lit! Another guard took us to our spot and I almost cried. It was too beautiful to explain. The splashes of water made my heart at ease and the Christmas lights gave me warmth for no reason. “Isn't this beautiful, Jaxie?” I asked as I took the view in and twirled around in the spacious ground.

When Noah Levine came back, Christmas had already passed. I'd thrown that reindeer lingerie into a street trash bin. "Babe, I left in such a rush last night that I forgot to give you your Christmas present." He pulled out a sapphire necklace and swept my hair aside to fasten it around my neck. Because he leaned in so close, I could clearly see the red marks on his neck and smell the sickly sweet perfume that obviously wasn't his. Christmas is just as, or even more, grand in the White Castle as it was before. Decorations ranging from Christmas lights hung and lit up, a wreath on all doors, stockings of different colors and names, mini trees per room, poinsettias in full bloom, candles, mistletoes, nutcrackers, you name it. We just had a small Christmas tree and a few gifts.
