Restless and unfulfilled, I grabbed my smokes and a lighter and headed out to the stairwell for a puff. Just as my hand touched the door to the stairwell, I heard a faint, frantic moaning. At first, I thought it was just a cat in heat. Then, a familiar scent hit me. It was a perfume that immediately made me think of my charming neighbor from next door, Demi Wilson. Every time I ran into her, that sweet, intoxicating scent always arrived first. Then came the flash of a red slip dress or perhaps a bodycon dress, with a neckline plunging incredibly low.

We sat in the living room, Zara talking nonstop about the States—her job, her apartment, how lonely it got sometimes. “I missed home,” she admitted softly. “And I missed you.” I reached for her hand. “I missed you too.” She looked at Elijah again. “So… how did you two meet?” He glanced at me. “Next-door neighbors.” Her eyes widened. “Are you serious?” I nodded. “Life is strange.” She smiled. “I like this version of your life.” Later, Zara pulled me aside while Elijah stepped out to take a call. “You’re happy,” she said quietly.

Now it's Hanin's turn to talk, the little girl seems shy. "Hello sweetie, what's your name?" Nalla asks Hanin for the first time. Anjani has told him about her new neighbor, and says that Hanin is the son of their new neighbor who is now friends with her son. "My name is Hanin." replied Hanin, Nalla smiled then wiped Hanin's hair with echoes. "You're so beautiful!" praised Nalla while pinching Hanin's adorable cheeks. I wondered. I walked slowly towards the window with my arms wrapped around me. I grabbed the window handles to pull them back to close it but I stopped midway when I noticed the lights next door. Who could that be? The house beside us was empty for over a year. I squinted and could actually see the inside of the room through the window adjoining mine. Like seriously, I could strangle the guy who constructed these houses like that. So damn close! Anyway, we finally got some new neighbours. What an odd time to move in though, I couldn't help but think. I just hope they would be nice. My parents could have some pals.
