SIGNING THE AGREEMENT

Esperanza

"I am sorry, Uncle, but I thought you weren't coming back," I said.

He frowned and walked in holding a file.

"What's that?" I asked.

He dropped the file on the bed and looked at me.

"You need to sign this. It contains some crucial information," he said.

I blinked my eyes as the thought of him joining hands with his daughter crossed my mind. He was Eleanor's father so I would understand if he was protecting his daughter, but this was too much for me to bear.

"You should read it before signing," he said and left the room like he was done speaking.

"Esperanza!" I heard someone call and looked around, but I saw no one. "It's your wolf."

Hearing this made me happy, so I jumped for joy. I wanted to go out to inform my uncle, but I was warned not to.

"It would be best if no one knows that you've gotten your wolf," she said.

With joy in my heart, I walked to the file and opened it to read.

"How can you agree with your daughter that I be sold to another Alpha? She didn't choose a good Alpha, but a dangerous Alpha," I said to my uncle who tried to keep me calm.

"I agreed to this because it is the only way to save this pack from his strike,"

I looked at him with pain in my heart. Did they plan this all along? Why didn't he advise his daughter to choose someone else? Didn't he care that I might die in the hands of that man?

"There are other girls...," I was saying, but he stopped me.

"You are suitable. Your situation makes you right for this," he said and I shook my head.

"What if I die in his hands?" I asked and he shook his head.

"We would save you from him when the pack restores its glory,"

I was angry with what he said that I couldn't decide if he was saying it for my good. But no, I don't believe anything from Eleanor can be good.

"Esperanza!!!" I heard my uncle call while I ran but I didn't respond.

While running, I hit my foot on a rock and stopped to check myself.

"Esperanza!!!" I heard a mature female voice call me and looked around.

"Aren't you satisfied mocking me?" I asked.

"Luna Eleanor wants to see you," the Omega said.

I met with Eleanor at the open field, and she asked that I take a seat.

"Have you thought of my offer?" She asked. "It's better than sending you rogue."

I smiled looking into her eyes.

"You want to save this pack," I said and she nodded.

Angrily, I asked her if she wished that I would die.

"I don't care," she said. "My uncle loved you so much that after his death he entrusted your care to my father."

Hearing her made me think. Her uncle was my father's friend, and my godfather. On his deathbed, he entrusted my care to Eleanor's father.

"I need to go," I said, and without waiting for her response, I left.

I walked to the field and noticed people's piercing gazes, but I kept walking. Then I overheard two Omega whispers.

"I heard our Alpha wants to sacrifice her to Alpha Drupal," the first Omega said.

"Does Alpha Damien want her dead?" The other Omega asked.

"I don't know. That's all I heard,"

I continued moving, and at a point I overheard two people talking about the same issue.

"This marriage is not only to save the pack. Alpha Damien would also like to partner with Alpha Drupal," one of the women said.

"It would make this pack stronger," the other woman said. "Alpha Damien would be powerful."

Hearing this, my heart became heavy, and all I could think of was the agreement.

Why were they discussing this when I haven't signed the agreement? Were they sure that I would sign it? Anyway, it would be best if I signed it because I won't allow Drupal to empower Damien.

"Sir, I don't want to sign this agreement," I told Mr. Salvador when I saw him.

"Esperanza!" He called and sat me down. "Don't you want to help this pack?"

"I do, but I don't want to marry Alpha Drupal though I may not have a mate anymore,"

He pulled me into a hug as I let out my emotions.

Minutes later, I pulled out the file and skimmed through it twice. I picked up the pen and thought for a while.

"Goddess, protect me," I said before signing the required places.

Done signing, I didn't immediately take it to Eleanor's father, but I kept staring at it like I was preparing for what was going to happen next.

"I would be fine," I told myself, picked up the file, and left the room.

"Here it is," I said, handing the file to Mr. Salvador.

The look on his face was a mixture of satisfaction and sadness. I knew he felt satisfied knowing that I was going to save our pack, but he felt sad knowing that I would be leaving to be with Alpha Drupal.

"I am happy you chose to save your pack," he said, gave me a peck on my forehead, and left.

Seeing him leave made me shake my head as I had different ideas. Could he be in cohort with his daughter?

An hour later, I sat on the bed rearranging the clothes I would take with me into a bag when Mr. Salvador rushed in.

"Esperanza! Esperanza!!" I heard him call, and dropped what I was doing.

"What's it, Uncle?"

Panting heavily, he looked at me.

"Damien was informed that Alpha Drupal is almost here," he said.

Hearing those words, it felt like my heart was going to jump out. I may want to marry him to make things difficult for both Damien and Eleanor, but hearing about him could make one die.

"Alright, I will wait for him," I said trying to make him believe that I wasn't sad.
