GETTING THE NEEDED ANSWERS

Esperanza

 I chewed silently on what I was eating, but it didn't taste like it was meant to taste good. It tasted sour in my mouth, and I felt bad.

 I thought of Eleanor and Damien, how they were. I knew that they would have consummated their marriage. It would be weird if they had not as the pack needed a heir.

 Nevertheless, Eleanor would do anything in her power to get what she wants, and Damien won't be able to resist her.

 "Esperanza!" I heard Eleanor's father, Mr. Salvador call my name, but it wasn't physical.

 Am I thinking? How can I hear his voice when he isn't here?

 "Just stop thinking about the one who betrayed you and the family. She isn't worth thinking about," I heard his voice again, not physically.

 I closed my eyes and shook my head as I turned back and saw him staring at me.

 

 He placed a hand on me, and asked, "Is anything wrong? I called your name many times, but you didn't answer."

 I stared at him, not knowing what to do but I could see his glittering eyes, worried about me.

 "Yes, I am alright," I mumbled, biting my lip.

 I was glad that no one except Mr. Salvador knew that I still couldn't communicate with my wolf. This made me feel weird, as most werewolves of my age could communicate with their wolves and do all the supernatural things werewolves could do, but I couldn't.

 This made me feel vulnerable.

 Mr. Salvador had always told me that one day I would get my wolf, but when would that day come? There was only few days left till the pack sends me out to live as a rogue.

 

 I would be sent out as I was not only rejected by my mate, but I hadn't found my wolf. It was a tradition to send werewolves like that out of the Moon Pack, and it was dangerous to become a rogue. When rejected by our mates, we will be sent out of the pack within some days to become rogues as it was a dishonor to the pack.

 Does the Alpha know about my weakness and is that the reason he chose to reject me?

 I couldn't hold the betrayal anymore, and I looked at Mr. Salvador.

 "I think I would like to see the Alpha," I announced, and he gave me a mixed expression.

 "Are you sure you would like to see the Alpha? He betrayed your trust and humiliated you by choosing another mate. How I wish it could be a dream," he said, trying to change my mind.

 "Remember, it was not just him. Eleanor is also involved in this saga. She is the one who stole my mate, but here you are saying nothing about her. You only speak about Alpha Damien's betrayal and not Eleanor's. Is it because she is your child? Does she deserve everything even my mate?"

 "I will just like to know why he chose to do this to me? It is not enough to break that rule. I would like to know the reason he rejected me. I would like to know what gave him the right to ruin my life. My answers will be gotten from them, not you." My lips shook as I made an end to my statement.

 I could feel anger and resentment inside me, fueled by my determination to confront them both. I needed answers, and I was going to get them.

 Without waiting for his response, I got up and stormed out of his sight. I walked down the hallway as I knew where the Alpha would be at this time, his quarters.

 I stepped into his chamber under the watchful gaze of everyone who could see me.

 "What are you doing here, Esperanza?" Alpha Damien asked, his gaze meeting mine.

 I waved off the thought I had and walked towards him. His guards wanted to stop me but he told them not to.

 "I only came here to ask you a question," I said.

 Eleanor walked in with her royal apparel.

 "What are you doing in his chamber?" She asked but I avoided her question.

 "What right do you have to ruin my life?" I asked focusing on Damien.

 Eleanor smiled and put a cup to Damien's lips.

 "How dare you ask me that question? Do you think it is right for me to marry an orphan?"

 Alpha Damien's question shook me to the core.

 "I thought you loved me," I said.

 He laughed then looked at Eleanor.

 "Did I ever love her? Thank you for letting me know that she is an orphan,"

 The word he said made my heart bitter, but I needed to act strong, so I smiled and turned to leave.

 Turning back a bit, I wished Alpha Damien and his Luna a happy life.

 "Esperanza, what happened inside?" Mr . Salvador asked.

 "Do you care?" I asked. "Before they send me from here, I would prefer to leave."

 He looked at me and shook his head.

 "Let's go to my house,"

 I refused to follow him, but after a long thought, I accepted.

 "I will only be spending a few days with you," I said.

 "Yes, but your mind isn't calm yet,"

 As I packed my bag, we heard someone call Mr. Salvador.

 "The Luna would like to see you,"

 I looked at my uncle, then at the mocking eyes that were on me.

 "Esperanza," he called.

 "I can take care of myself," I told him and watched his retreating steps.

 I waited for six hours but he didn't come back. Has he also left me?

 My eyes became wet as I got up to leave but before I could take a step, I heard his stern voice. He only used it whenever he was scolding me. What did I do wrong?

 I turned to look at him and saw a scolding stare.

 "Where do you think you are going? You couldn't wait for me," he said.
