Chapter 1. Long time no see

How many dreams will come true, like harbingers in the night?

How much warm sunshine will melt the frost, and soothe the heavy soul of pain?

Katie once had many dreams related to her destiny. Sometimes that dream would help her escape by luck, but sometimes bad luck made her wonder, and hesitate to the point of being sick.

Dreaming of a certain part of the future made Katie extremely depressed. She seemed to be the one who held her destiny, but she was awfully difficult to modify the previously known series of episodes.

It's just that, indeed, some things changed after Katie had obtained the ability to foresee some future stories.

Katie frowned at the man in front of her. At this moment, Aidan was like a lady-killer, the center of all eyes. But the look Katie gave him was reluctant, and the eyes of the female classmates around him were passionate as if to swallow a whole large body into their stomachs.

Katie was sitting across from Aidan, so it was obvious that she had to look at him. But Aidan did not think so.

Aidan raised his glass of wine, taking a large sip. He met Katie's gaze casually, smirking. Today, seeing Katie at the class reunion surprised him. He even thought she would not come, so he did not even plan to join at first. Because the class president kept begging him to follow, he ran out of excuses and had to reluctantly go along.

The purpose of the class president dragging Aidan with him was for fear of not being able to talk to anyone. Aidan's purpose for attending the class reunion was to see Katie again.

Aidan held onto a glimmer of hope that he could see Katie again at the class reunion, then actually met. Unexpectedly, after all this time apart, Katie was still very attached to him. Look at the way her eyes fell on him. Oh, that was so blunt!

"Say, Aidan... Don't tell me you're still single right now, okay?"

Aidan was drifting away for a moment, not knowing when his female classmate put her claws on him. Aidan tried to get it out of her fingers. He did not even say anything, yet the female classmate kept talking:

"You look so handsome. It's clear that there were so many girls in high school chasing after you, and yet you couldn't choose one. Is it true that... you are still single now?"

Still single now?

Aidan reached out to refuse the wine from the class president sitting next to him, then forced a laugh, using his strength to pull the soft hands of his female classmate next to him from his arm. Aidan seemed to escape a tribulation. But, wasn’t it acceptable to people? Why couldn't it be accepted that he was single? Basically, for twenty-seven years, he had never been in a romance for once.

"What's wrong? Is it strange that I'm single?" Aidan was finally able to calm down as if no question was asked.

"The fact that you're single is really like provoking us to fight hard to get you." Another female friend spoke up.

Katie has been very obedient since the beginning; she ate when she wanted, drank when she felt like. Still, the fact that a bunch of people were sitting in front of her talking about this displeased her. Now, they were comparing Aidan to a piece of fatty meat hanging from a cat's mouth, every hour, every minute could drive them crazy. Katie was just the one listening but she felt a chill on her back, let alone Aidan as the main character.

He must have suffered terribly not to show his usual annoyance on the face.

"Then what about you, Katie?" Aidan rolled his eyes, finally stopping on Katie' body. Looking at her pretty mouth trying to hold back her miserable smile, he really wanted to drag her into this fight with him. So Aidan smirked and asked slowly, "Have you got a boyfriend yet?"

Seeing Aidan change his direction to another girl, the females around him were a little annoyed. knowing that the subject was Katie, they actually felt somewhat more secure.

Everyone knew Katie and Aidan did not get along before. Especially in their senior year of high school, they caused such a stir that the homeroom teacher was reminded, forced to invite both parents to the school for a private talk. But what the root cause was, they really did not know.

Katie turned from an outsider to an insider, giving Aidan sharp glare with sadness. Aidan was also very accommodating. And Katie was still sitting on the fire, thinking back and forth, finally deciding to tell the truth:

"I still don't intend to be in a relationship."

The whole group grumbled in disbelief, "So, it’s the same as before?"

Katie nodded, "I feel pretty normal. It's not easy to fall in love these days."

Perhaps Katie was so independent and had such a strong personality that the words "I can do it. I don’t need your help." popped out on her face. As men, they would feel demoralized, unwilling to be around such girls unintentionally. In the words of the class president, men still preferred weak, petite girls.

Aidan did not know what his ideal type of girlfriend was. All he knew, he was a little concerned about Katie's move.

In the strange atmosphere of the barroom, the red-faced, monkey-like-ass class leader pressed against Aidan's body, interjected into the middle of a group of girls, and said in a raspy voice:

"Let… Let me tell you guys. Our Aidan knows love too. He loves who? I know. He loves, loves..."

"Shut up. Step aside!" Without waiting for the class president to finish his sentence, Aidan forcibly stopped him from opening his mouth. The classmates around him were trying to hear the whole story, only to be able to adjust their postures at last.

"I... I, you... you..."

"Alright, now go take care of our deputy." Aidan scorned.
