Lucian's POV.

“What?” I growled.

I grabbed a wine glass on the table and hurled it across the room. It struck the maid squarely before clattering to the ground, but I didn’t care. My blood was boiling too hot to care.

“What do you mean she’s gone?” I roared.

The maid trembled, her hands pressed against her bleeding arm where the glass had cut her.

“Sh-she’s nowhere to be seen, my lord. She wasn’t in her room… she’s nowhere in the house.”

“Nowhere to be seen?” My voice cracked with fury. “She was in her room! I left for a few hours, just a few hours! And I return to hear this?” My chest heaved, my vision narrowing as rage swallowed me whole.

Behind me, Jeremy’s voice came cautiously. “My lord, I think you should calm down. Maybe she went out for a bit—”

“Calm down?” I snapped. “It’s the next day, Jeremy. The next damn day! She never leaves without telling me. She isn’t even allowed outside these walls.”

Jeremy swallowed, his face paling. “Then… somebody took her.”

Selene's POV“I got help,” Ronan said.My brows furrowed as I leaned forward. “From who?” I asked.“From Carmen,” Ronan replied. My heart skipped. Carmen? My voice shook as I whispered. “Carmen? How?”Killian looked up at him, and cut in before I could say more. “How do you mean from Carmen”Ronan exhaled, his eyes flicking between us. “Well, while you both were away, we thought to take off the stress from your hands, and so I spoke with Carmen. And somehow, she was able to cast a spell that brainwashed your mother into coming with us and sneaking quietly. It wasn’t something easy,” he said, his expression heavy, as though remembering every detail. “But with a few guards, we were able to do it.”Before I could even process his words, Killian rose up and hugged Ronan, patting his back. “Thank you so much.”Ronan smiled faintly. “Anything for my Alpha and Luna.” Then his gaze softened as he looked at me.I felt my lips tremble before a small smile found its way through. “Thank you so mu

Killian's POV“Hey,” I whispered softly, steadying Selene as she staggered beside me. Her grip on my hand trembled, her wide eyes fixed on the woman sitting at the far end of the court. The moment I followed her gaze, I understood. The resemblance was undeniable. My chest tightened. I tightened my hold on Selene’s hand, guiding her forward step by step. She was still in a daze.My eyes flicked toward Ronan, standing tall beside the chair. “You managed to get her?” I asked.Ronan gave a firm nod. “Yes.”I let out a slow breath, my attention shifting back to Selene just as she slipped free from my hold and dropped to her knees in front of the woman.“Mom!” her voice cracked, tears shining at the corners of her eyes. I almost believed this reunion would bring her peace. She wrapped her arms tightly around the woman. But then, the woman stiffened and shoved her back. “Who are you?”Selene froze, her tearful smile faltering. And I stood there, caught between wanting to pull her back into m

Selene's POV“Kilian!” I squeaked. In an instant, his hand shot out, pressing over mine. His strength and skill steered the horse away just in time, narrowly avoiding a collision. My heart hammered as we came to a slow stop, Kilian’s hand was still holding mine, keeping the reins steady.I exhaled shakily, my cheeks flushed from fear and adrenaline. “I—I didn’t even see the tree…” I whispered, still trembling slightly.Kilian chuckled softly. “It’s alright,” he said. “I’ve got you. That’s why I’m here.”Relief washed over me, and despite the scare, I couldn’t stop the giggle that escaped me. “Thank you,” I murmured, turning slightly to glance at him. “For saving us.”“You’re welcome my love,” he whispered back. “Shall we go back?” he asked.I hesitated for a second, then looked up to meet his encouraging gaze. “You want me to still ride it back?” I asked softly. He smiled. “Mm-hmm, I trust you.”With that, I gently nudged the horse forward, feeling it respond beneath me. Selene's POV.“Killian please,” I whispered, my voice barely above a whisper. His arms tightened around me instantly, pulling closer in his embrace. The sound of his uneven heartbeat thundered under my cheek. He was terrified, and the truth was that I was too. My body trembled, not only from fear but from the weight of everything pressing down on us. Still, despite it all, there was this faith inside me that he wouldn't let me die.“Selene…” His voice cracked. “I’m just scared. What if…what if I can’t control myself? What if I…”“Killian.” I lifted my head before he could finish, cutting him off. His eyes flickered down at me. I held that gaze. “I trust you. And you have to trust yourself too.”He opened his mouth, ready to argue, but I didn’t give him the chance. “Mark me.”I whispered the words that had been clawing their way up my throat. For a second, the whole world seemed to stop. Killian’s eyes widened, flashing with shock and disbelief.“Yes,” I breathed, leaning into him. “I
