“Sir, Kate's have been found. She works at a hospital in Puerto Vallarta.” A man informed Leo as he handed over several photos showing Kate treating patients in the emergency department.

Leonardo Bianchi was his name. A leader of the biggest mafia organization in Mexico. He was very handsome; the lines of his face were so firm, and he had such a sharp and deadly look in his eyes.

“Prepare the car; we're going there now!” Leonardo gave the order. He squeezed the photo sheet very hard. His jaw hardened; his breathing sounded heavy.

It had been six months since Kate had left the base. He couldn't wait to see her again. Six months was not a short time to endure longing.

Leonardo rose to his feet as the car was prepared. Together with some of his men, they sped off to the neighboring town where Kate was known to be working.

Some of the cars stopped and parked haphazardly when they arrived at their destination. Their aura was dominating, especially Leonardo, who looked so scary.

People ran when they saw Leonardo and his men entering the hospital with guns. La Vendetta was so famous in Mexico, Leonardo's face was recognized as the most ruthless and unforgiving mafia lead. Of course they were terrified when they saw him.

“What's going on? Why is there such a commotion out there?” Caterina, who was working, looked confused. Her brow furrowed as she looked at her coworkers.

“Maybe there's a new emergency patient coming in.” Gabriel tried to think positively.

“Argh!” Gunshots rang out, accompanied by screams.

The commotion was getting worse. People were running around; even patients were being left behind. Chaos could no longer be avoided. No one dared to fight back, nor did anyone dare to call the police. Because everyone also knew that the police were also under La Vendetta's power. All they could do was avoid getting into trouble.

“You take care of all the patients; I have things to do.” Caterina said. Her tone sounded emphasized. She took off her mask and gloves. She went to the toilet to take out the gun she kept under her work clothes.

Caterine assembled the gun quickly. In the back of her shoe, she loaded the gun to the brim, taking off her work clothes to make it easier for her to move around.

The dark-haired woman sneaked around, hiding from room to room. She was about to shoot when she was in the right spot, but her action was halted when she saw Leonardo. Her intention to attack was aborted; she turned around and hid. This time all she wanted to do was avoid her former coworker.

Leonardo was once the man Caterine loved the most; until now, that feeling has never ended. She loved Leonardo to death, until her feelings put her in such a difficult situation. Leonardo hated her, so she had to leave for her own safety.

“Kate, how long do you have to hide? I know you're there. Come out quickly before I destroy this hospital.” Leonardo said sharply; he gave a threat.

Caterina remained hidden where she stood. She didn't want to take any chances. Her father had told her that she must continue to avoid Leonardo if she didn't want to die.

“Kate! I don't mince my words! If you don't appear before me, I'll finish off the patients here!” Leonardo continued to threaten. He knew Caterina's soft heart, so he knew she would show up if he threatened her with the lives of others.

Caterina sighed harshly. She had no choice but to go out and meet Leonardo.

“What do you want?” Caterina asked sharply.

Leonardo stared for a few moments. In the six months they had not seen each other, Caterina had already changed a lot. She looked more beautiful and attractive.

“You asked me to leave; I've left according to your will. I don't think we have any relationship anymore.”

Leonardo did not answer Caterina's words. It was indeed he who had kicked Caterina out of the headquarters because he felt so disturbed by all the love and attention Caterina gave him. He felt ashamed of being loved by that woman. He felt his pride was being trampled on because  Caterina liked him. Only he could decide which woman could love him.

However, in reality, he missed Caterina after he sent her away. Every second he spent was lonely and boring without Caterina by his side. He was used to being disturbed; he was used to all the attention Caterina gave him. When suddenly all those habits disappeared, he started to want her.

“You made the mistake of leaking classified information to the enemy, so you should be punished.” Leonardo made excuses, as he was too proud to admit his feelings.

“I never did that. I left La Vendetta and no longer have anything to do with it. I never looked into the organization's activities, nor did I ever meet your enemy.” Caterina defended herself.

“Take her away!” Leonardo gave orders to his men. He didn't want to spend time arguing.

The two burly men grabbed Caterina's arms; they dragged her slightly roughly out of the hospital.

“Let me go; I'm innocent!” Caterina rebelled; she tried to break free from the two men's grip. However, her strength was not strong enough. The more she rebelled, the stronger their grip became.

“Let me go!” Caterina's screams grew stronger. She didn't know what Leonardo would do to her if she was taken back to headquarters. Moreover, Leonardo said the word punishment. All she could think of now was death.

“Stop it!” Gabriel ran after he heard Caterina's shout. Six months of living together, they already had a tight bond.

“Where are you taking her?” Gabriel looked so worried.

“That's none of your business!” Leonardo said coldly.

“Of course it's my business. Kate is my girlfriend.”
