Jason stared at her pale face, filled with hatred, and felt a cold wave rush from his feet to his chest.

He felt something important slipping away.

He struggled to hold on, not knowing what to do, and finally managed to say, “You say you’re innocent? My grandmother hasn’t even woken up yet. You still have to prove it. You’re not allowed to die!”

“Get out, get out of here...” Claire pointed at Jason, grabbing Leon’s shirt and crying helplessly. “Make him leave. I don’t want to see him. Make him go!”

Claire’s dependence on Leon and hatred toward him stung Jason’s eyes.

He clenched his fists tightly and pressed on. “Stay alive and wait for me to get my revenge on you.”

“Leon, I don’t want to see him. Make him leave!” Claire begged, blood still trickling from her lips.

Jason’s pupils trembled. Fear devoured his nerves. He had no way to dispel it and slowly backed toward the door.

Claire sobbed in Leon’s arms, pleading for comfort.

"He really hurt you. How about I help you get revenge if you actually recover?""You..." Claire was a bit surprised. As far as she remembered, Leon used to be pretty protective of Jason, almost like an older brother to him. But now, why was he offering to help her take revenge?Leon stepped closer and gently patted her head. "It's a deal. If you manage to stay alive, then I’ll help you get your revenge." His smile was so sweet, it was impossible not to fall for it.If Jason could smile at her like that, Claire might have been the happiest woman in the world. But that was just a hopeless dream. Jason would never give her a warm smile. All his gentleness was already given to someone else, and there was none left for her. After Claire fell asleep, Leon quietly left the room. Andrew, his assistant, was waiting outside and quickly walked up to him."It seems DA’s influence can’t be underestimated. Their actors are pretty well-known, and they’ve all decided to keep working with DA," Andrew

A few days ago...Leon, who had already returned to the city, was just passing by Jason’s house out of curiosity, wondering whether he should come and say hello. But instead, he saw a commotion involving Claire and Mandy. He knew there was nothing he could do if he intervened, so he watched from a distance and followed Gabriel when the man took Claire away at gunpoint.Leon followed them, and after catching up with Gabriel’s car, he tried to block the road.Gabriel, who had clearly lost his mind, saw Leon walking toward them and panicked, thinking Leon was on Jason’s side.Believing he’d be captured, Gabriel slammed on the gas and tried to hit Leon, but Claire grabbed the steering wheel and swerved the car, causing them to crash into a tree. The airbags deployed, but Claire and Gabriel were still in shock, and the front of the car started to smoke.Leon quickly opened the car door and pulled Claire out. The road was quiet, but fortunately, another driver passed by and stopped to help.

“I’ve told you so many times that she might die, but you said you didn’t care, didn’t you? Besides, Claire suffered again and again in front of you, she could barely stand, and all you ever did was mock and humiliate her!”Jason stepped back, and all he could think of was Claire’s sad face. The pain she showed had been real all along. It was true—he had said she might die. But why? Why was this happening?A chill crept through his body, and sorrow and regret crashed into him like a tidal wave, nearly crushing him.It wasn’t that he didn’t want to believe her. It’s just... in his mind, she’d always been so tough, so strong, so stubborn. How could someone like her die so easily? As if that wasn’t painful enough, Theo added, “She knew you wouldn’t believe her. She said you wouldn’t care. That’s why she begged me not to tell you about her condition. She was so disappointed in you.”“Don’t say that... please, stop...” Jason pressed his fingers to his temples and whispered in anguish, “How

Gabriel was driving his car way too fast, but Claire just sat there silently. Suddenly, she started coughing hard and vomited a lot of blood.Gabriel turned pale. “Claire?” he called out as she kept coughing, blood pouring from her mouth. At that moment, a car suddenly blocked their path, and Gabriel had no choice but to slam on the brakes.Claire, already weak, nearly hit the dashboard, but luckily Gabriel managed to hold her back. Then, he saw a tall, broad-shouldered man step out of the car in front of them and walk toward them.“Who... who is he? What does he want?” Gabriel asked nervously.Claire lifted her aching head, tears falling uncontrollably as she looked at the man’s face. Her voice was filled with sorrow. “Leon…” she whispered.Gabriel, gripped by fear and losing all sense of reason, pressed the gas pedal again.“No, Gaby! Don’t!” Claire grabbed the steering wheel as he drove straight toward the man.---Meanwhile, Jason didn’t even look at Mandy. He shouted at one of hi

Mandy reflexively covered her face with both hands, causing part of the left side of her face to blister and her hands to be even more badly injured. She screamed. Her face and hands were burning, the pain was excruciating, and the wounds looked horrifying."It hurts! Oh God, my face! Oh!""Gaby!" Claire also screamed in horror, her legs giving out beneath her as she collapsed to the ground.Gabriel grabbed Mandy by the collar."Do you know why I'm hurting you?" he asked.Mandy shook her head, still crying. The pain was so intense that she was about to pass out.Gabriel smiled."Because you're a filthy whore. Because you ruined my career. Because Jason loves you more. And because you're pretty and famous. Hurting you just feels more satisfying.""No, you're wrong. Jason loves Claire. He doesn’t love me. He truly loves Claire!"Claire was terrified, but when she heard Mandy say that, she laughed.Gabriel gave a sickening laugh too."I don’t care. Besides, seeing you like this is actual

  • My Cruel Ex-husband Wants to Reconcile with Me   Chapter 55. Gabriel's Press Conference

Gabriel didn’t call a press conference. This time, it was the fans—or maybe the haters—who snapped pictures of him and Claire meeting at a café, and the photos quickly spread across social media. That made Jason furious again. The next day, Paul came to the house, even though Jason had already left earlier that morning.Claire looked at Paul, puzzled. “Are you here to take me to the press conference?”Paul shook his head.Claire was even more confused. “Then what?”Paul took out a document and said, “Mr. Jason asked me to give this to you.”“Divorce Papers”—those words were written in bold letters on the front cover. Jason had prepared this five years ago, and he had always kept it in his office.Back then, Claire had refused to sign it because of the baby, but not anymore. She took the papers and walked straight to the coffee table without a second of hesitation.Paul couldn’t help but advise her. “Ma’am, maybe you should wait until after today’s press conference. Mr. Jason will hear

“You?” Mandy was shocked when she saw Claire stepping out of Jason’s room.Claire pouted and purposely left the door open so Mandy could see Jason half-dressed.“Hey!” Jason was startled and quickly turned his back to them while buttoning his pants. “Close the door!” he said to Claire, and she immediately shut it.Mandy looked even angrier and clearly jealous.“You’ll never get what already belongs to me,” Claire said confidently, even though deep down she wasn’t sure at all.Mandy was furious, and it showed on her face, while Claire just gave her a disgusted smirk.“You should just wait outside. Why are you always trying to sneak into someone else’s husband’s room, huh?” Claire said with a smug smile. “Go to the kitchen and make yourself a drink, little sister. I’m too exhausted to entertain guests. I think I’ll go back to sleep.”Mandy followed behind her. “You bitch!” she shouted, raising her hand, ready to pull Claire’s hair. But Claire noticed some maids walking by and sneered. “

Claire was sitting by the riverbank when the drizzle started. Her hair was almost wet, and her tears blended with the rain on her pale, thin face.Suddenly, she heard footsteps, and a thick jacket was placed over her shoulders.Claire was a little startled and turned around, but felt disappointed when she saw it was Gabriel. Why was she disappointed? What exactly was she hoping for? Did she think Jason would come and protect her?Gabriel was shocked when he saw how sad she looked.“Chloe, why are you crying?”“It’s nothing,” Claire said, turning her gaze back to the river.Gabriel pressed his lips together and sighed, clearly regretting something.“I’m sorry, Chloe. This whole mess has made everyone hate you, and the worst part is, I couldn’t do anything about it,” he said.“If I could, I’d fix everything so you wouldn’t have to suffer.”Claire felt a bitter sadness. Everyone mocked her, insulted her. Even her husband thought she was cruel. But this man—he was being kind. She didn’t k
