LOGINKIAN
He listened as his councils read some paperwork out to him, he was awfully bored out of his mind. While he enjoys the perks of being an Alpha, especially the fighting and killing stuff part, he hates the paperwork but sadly he can’t have one without the other.
He met Derek’s eyes, who happens to be the one sitting closer to him, he was making a strict parental face at him which he completely ignored. He quickly covered his mouth as a yawn threatened to escape but just as he thought the meeting might never end, the last piece of paper work was rolled up and the messenger took his seat.
“Time for the oral report.” The bellman announced, and this time he actually groaned inwardly.
He looked around the courtroom then gestured toward the centre, giving them the permission to proceed. The first courtier stepped forward, slightly bowing down in his direction before he began to speak.
“This is mainly an oral report because I didn’t have time to prepare a written one but it is a real threat. It has come to my attention that Valley-Moon‘s Pack has been smuggling dangerous weapons, using the pack as a passageway.” His words were met with gasp and this was the first thing that piqued his interest since the beginning of this dreadful meeting.
He signed and Tint translated his words. “Do you have evidence backing up your claims?”
The older man paused as if conflicted. “Not yet but I promise as soon as I get one, I shall let the court know.” He bowed his head, waiting for his dismissal.
The meeting went on for a couple more minutes before it finally came to an end and he was more than ready to leave the courtroom. He was barely out when his godfather clasped a hand over his shoulder, bringing him to a halt.
“Hurrying to meet the wife?” He teased, laughing when his words were met with an eye roll from the young Alpha. “ The honeymoon phase, go ahead and enjoy it but make sure you don’t neglect your duties.”
He signed back his response. “Although Delta Dane might not have any evidence yet, I want more men at the border watch tower keeping an eye on everyone and everything that goes in and out of the pack.”
“I agree, one of these days we should hang out and you can tell me all about marriage, maybe that will convince me to get a wife. I’ll be seeing you around!” His godfather responded, laughing at his own statement as he walked away.
He stared after his godfather as he walked away and felt guilty for keeping such a huge secret from him but it was for the best, he thought to himself as he headed toward the pack house. His sister's death had also cut deep into Derek’s heart and telling him Alpha Alec was responsible for it will no doubt make him act rash and ruin the entire course of his plan.
He spent his time plotting out the perfect plan, crafting it from scratch until it turned into a beautiful solid plan that he couldn’t wait to carry out but in the meantime, he will let his wife have her fun. He momentarily stopped, realising he just acknowledged her as his wife! He shook his head, disgusted at the thought.
Something he blamed his godfather for, if the older man wasn’t bent on teasing him about the whole thing then none of that would be happening. Deep in thoughts, he strolled into the private living room area of the master’s bedroom, relieved when there was no sign of Xavie.
They only had to appear together in public and once in private, they went about their business, he most especially went out of his way to avoid her and he was sure she did the same thing. Picking up the newspaper he had left earlier on the coffee table, he got engrossed in it pretty quickly, so much that he didn’t hear the door open until Xavie spoke.
“I believe Alec has hired someone to keep an eye on me!” She declared, causing him to want to groan aloud. All she seemed to talk about is Alec and what she constitutes to be a perfect revenge plan.
He sets down the paper, waiting for her to further explain.
“At the Luna event yesterday he kept staring at me and today, I sensed I’m being followed but each time I turn, I can’t find anyone. Since no one knows my true identity, I think it would be best if we go by my fake name if anyone asks.”
He glanced around for a pen and paper until he found one then wrote. “You should have thought about that before you gave Derek your real name.” Not that he was worried about his godfather telling anyone but if Alec goes asking around then he could imagine what the result would be.
Her eyes widened as she read his words, realisation settling onto her face. He almost pity her because it was clear that she was really trying to be a bad person and it just wasn't working out for her since it was not her nature. Without thinking, he reached to comfort her but caught himself at the last second.
“How could I have made such a mistake?” She collapsed on the couch. “You need to reintroduce me to your uncle!” She stood right back up, grabbing him by the arm.
He wanted to correct her, to tell her that Derek was his godfather and not uncle but he had been dragged out of the room. He led her to the lake where Derek spent most of his time fishing with his friends if not handling pack business.
Once he caught sight of them, he left his boat and approached them on land, his eyes moving curiously from one face to another. “Oh! I didn’t know you two are interested in fishing, is she making you do this? Look at you, doing everything to please the wife.” His eyes could not just roll enough at his godfather's words.
“Oh no! Due to yesterday’s circumstances, I couldn’t introduce myself properly.” She told him. “Although thanks for the offer, I might take you up on that one day.”
“Really? You came all the way to reintroduce yourself to me? I can’t decide if I’m flattered or concerned.” She laughed to that, her voice filled with a hint of nervousness.
He let out a sigh before signing at him. “Please, just let her introduce herself so you can get on with your boring fishing.”
“I take offence to that!” He gasped dramatically. “I must say, I liked you better when you were single.”
“Well, introducing myself formally, my name is Nyxia, Nyx for short.” She added and he believed she was using a tactic called, the more people call me that the more I’ll get used to it. He didn’t think it was real but at least it made a plausible explanation.
“Nyxia? Hmmm, that’s a very nice name. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” He replied and she said something else he didn’t catch nor cared to.
Once they were done with their introduction, he made his way back to the pack house but was interrupted by a messenger handing him a golden envelope. Aware of the presence beside him, he hesitated as he reached to open the letter.
As if sensing the hesitation in him, she lets go of his arm, which he had forgotten she had been holding on to. “I have an appointment with Hilda, I better go see her now.” She murmured, hurrying into the pack house.
Once she was gone, he ripped open the letter and Alec name signed at the bottom was the first thing that caught his attention before reading through the letter which states that Alec was inviting him and his Luna to an event he’s hosting in his pack!
Just perfect, he thought, still staring at the letter, just like that Alec was making his plan easier, he had been thinking of an excuse to get him to come back to Blood-Moon Pack and now the bastard has invited him into his home!
XAVIE When Hilda had suggested flower picking, I thought it was something fun, like stopping to smell the roses or something. But instead I was helping her examine plants and picking some herbs. I didn’t complain though, I was in desperate need of some company so I quietly did the job she assigned me. I soon noticed her frequently glancing in my direction and thought at first maybe she was worried I wasn’t doing it right but then I realised she wasn’t looking at the herbs we were picking but at me. Even though she’s pretty much the only person that talks to me around here, Hilda was still a stranger to me. “Am I doing it wrong?” I asked, pausing in the act of picking another flower. She shook her head. “It seems to me like you and Alpha Kian are going out of your way to avoid each other, the servants are talking and once they start, be sure the entire pack is going to be aware of it too.” My eyes widened at her words as I grew nervous. “I’d like to think people have something bet
KIAN As much as he hates to admit it, he needed her. If it wasn’t for her quick thinking, there was a high chance that Alec would have caught him. He had also seen the flash of anger and jealousy in the other man’s eyes when Xavie had approached him, his inability to communicate made him rely heavily on non verbal cues, he didn’t know how much he needed her until that moment. It wouldn’t hurt to trust her a little more, it was just a hard thing for him to do and if past experience had taught him something, it was never to trust anyone. He cuts in front of her before she leaves. He started signing even though he knew she couldn’t understand but he was desperate. “You’re right about me not trusting you but I will try harder.” She stared at the movement of his hands, probably trying her best to understand what those hand gestures meant. “You know I don’t understand you right?” “What Alpha meant to say is—” Tint interrupts, making her way into the room. He was so relieved by her pres
XAVIE Pushing aside my nerves, I hurried toward the staircase, a little worried that I might not reach him on time. There’s not a single doubt in my mind that if he goes on the upper floor that he wouldn’t see Kian lurking around in his study, a part of me was wondering why he decided to be reckless when he could have told me to keep Alec distracted. “Alpha Alec—” I called out on reaching the stairs. “Is it okay if I speak to you for a few minutes, unless you’re in a hurry.” He pauses, eyes searching as if expecting Kian to pop out behind me or something. “I would prefer if you address me as Alec, Alpha Kian and I have known each other for a while now, speaking of him…where is he?” “He mentioned something about going to the men’s room earlier,” I hiked my dress up a little, closing the gap between us. “Some party you’re having…” His eyes piqued with undistinguished interest. “How? Is it not to your liking?” “Not to my liking? whatever do you mean by that?” I latched onto the top
XAVIE Despite my heart thumping nervously against my chest, my chin was high up as I cling on tightly to Kian’s arm. The party had already begun judging by the number of people lining up towards the entrance. I hardly paid any attention when the host announced our presence, as my eyes were glued on Alec approaching us from across the room. Being in the same space as him made me nervous, it brought back memories my brain hasn’t recovered from. Taking a deep breath, I clenched harder unto Kian’s arm. “You made it.” Alec chuckled, his eyes fixated on me even though he was addressing Kian. “I assumed you were not going to make it when I didn’t get a response.” “We wouldn’t miss it for the world, with him being busy with Alpha duties, I wanted us out of the palace tonight, right sweetheart?” I cringe inwardly when I call him sweetheart, it didn’t sound right. His eyes met mine, nodding briefly in confirmation to my words before refocusing his attention back on Alec.“Ha, I know how th
KIANSeveral hours had passed by since he discovered that his pack was being used as a passageway for illegal activities without his knowledge. That had contributed to his rage which resulted in him being unable to control it. The other Alpha had stood up, promising not to forget the humiliation he was subjected to that day. He didn’t care, not one fucking bit. If war is what Alpha Thane wants then a fucking war he will get. His anger still hasn’t faded, leaving him no choice but to go to the training ground and train it out of his system, it was a healthy way to let out anger… or something like that. From the corner of his eyes, he could see Shade approaching him with a sword hidden behind his back. If he was in a better mood, he would have smirked at his attempt to catch him off guard. He blocks the attack as soon as he launches it, while Shade fights with a sword, he fights with his claws. He never likes weapons anyway, except when he’s hunting. He loves using his hands, it mak
XAVIESomething is wrong! I couldn’t tell what exactly it was because it was more of a feeling. Pushing the negative emotion aside, I examined my painted nails in the mirror, an activity I’ve been doing for the past hour or so in a desperate attempt to cure boredom. Now that it's over, I’m plugged into the reality of my life. Two weeks ago, I was getting ready to start my life with Alec and now? I’m married to someone I barely know, someone I don’t even know how to communicate with, just to get my inheritance back and have my revenge while at it. Blinking away the tears that blurred my vision, I stood up, twirling around when the door abruptly opened. My eyes widened as Kian strolled into the bedroom, his hands dripping with blood, before I could form words, Drake walked in after him. “You could have killed him Kian!” The older man snarled, looking alarmed. Kian ignored him, slamming the bathroom door in a way that made me jump. My eyes followed the trail of blood, my vision getti
