Chapter 4

When the man heard her condition he didn’t think much about it. He only asked his personal bodyguard, Remo to lead Sharon to his study room

Sharon could feel the wrinkles that formed on her forehead as her eyes scanned through the weird portrait in his study room. She squeezed her face at the man’s weird taste.

“Are you here for sightseeing?” Sharon heard the man's rude voice behind her and she immediately turned in his direction.

She only looked at the man without saying a word, She didn’t want to lose her temper.

Right now the man in front of her is like her savior.

Apart from her revenge, She had taken the attractive offer knowing the man was powerful and only he could protect her in the path of her revenge.

She needed someone in a high position, she knew he was the one she needed at the moment, and the man was far better than Andrew in all ways.

Also, Sharon had learned from Aria in her past life that to get the first half of her inheritance, the condition was for her to be married and the second half would be when she gave birth to her first child. So this time she would be using the man to get half of her property, not Andrew. It will be a win-win for her

“You can go through the contract.” The man said tossing a file over to the desk near to her.

She took hold of it and went through the contents.

It said in the terms that she was to act as his wife, especially in public.

She is to make a few public appearances with him, do things couples do in public like holding hands, and light kisses, and in return, he will clear her debts.

Sharon suddenly paused and she glanced up at his face

“Does that mean you will accept my condition of protecting me?” Sharon asked him

The man hasn’t talked about that since she entered his study room.

“I always protect what belongs to me.” The man said and Sharon could feel her cheek flared up.

“I am ashamed to confess that I don't know the name of my groom.” She sat down on the chair next to him.

“That doesn’t matter, You shouldn’t be disturbed about that, Ms. Sharon.”

“Mrs. Rothschild.” Sharon corrected locking her gaze with his

She had just got married to Andrew so her last name had changed.

Sharon was sure the name would have to ring a bell in his head. However hearing that, the man doesn’t look shocked.

“Don’t you know who I am?” Sharon suddenly asked him looking so concerned.

“Your brother's latest wife. You can’t recognize me?” She raised a brow out of curiosity.

She wanted to find out if the man really couldn’t recognize her or if he was pretending not to.

“I’m your stepbrother’s wife. Are you still ready to go through any length with me?” Sharon asked with a smirk tug at the corner of her lips.

“I don’t care about any of that.”

“Just Sign on everywhere that requires your signature.” He gave her a pen to pen in her signature

Sharon was a bit surprised to hear that, she thought the man was going to retreat from the plan.

Sharon played with the tip of the pen.

She was about to pen in her signature but she suddenly paused.

“Before I sign this, I need to do something first,” Sharon said and closed back the contract file, a dangerous glimmer in her eyes.

“What is it?” The man asked

“A visit to my darling husband.” She beamed dangerously.

“In that?” The man’s eyes scanned through Sharon from head to toe in disgust

For a minute, Sharon had forgotten that she was still in her transparent nightwear.

She quietly folded her arms across her chest not because of her arrogance or to show off but because of her boobs that were quite obvious under her nightie.

“It was all the fault of your men. They didn’t allow me to get a change of clothes.” Sharon said in anger

Sharon watched the man ignore her. He looked in the direction of the door and called a name. “Dee.”

Just in a minute, the door was opened, and Sharon watched a woman in her early 50s walk into the room.

“You called for me, Sir.” The woman immediately bowed the moment she entered the room.

“Get her change.” He instructed her.

“This way Miss,” The woman gently gestured at her.

Sharon strode in her direction, she was about to exit the door when she was stopped by the man’s voice

“Mathew. You can call me Mathew.” He told her.

Remo, Matthew's personal guard drove Sharon back to the hotel. The moment Sharon stepped out of the car, she immediately caught the attention of everyone around.

Dee had done great work in picking her dress. She was clad in her long white dress that had her curves on full display. Her brown eyes were clear and the dress really complimented her mien.

Sharon asked Remo to stay behind even though he was against it but he had no choice but to follow the order of his new mistress

Sharon took her heels in the direction of their suite. The moment she pinned in the password Sharon found the room empty.

She wasn’t surprised, Andrew probably never cared about her missing, He would probably be having fun with Aria.

She left the room and walked in the direction of Aria’s room. The moment she knocked, Andrew was the one who opened up.  Sharon scoffed inwardly at that

The moment Andrew opened the door and saw that it was Sharon, he instantly panicked. “How did she find me here?”

But he managed to hide his fear behind his fake tears. Andrew instantly broke down into tears in front of Sharon.

“Babe, where have you been?”

“Do you know how much I have been searching for you? I thought I was never going to see you again.” He feigned his tears

However, Sharon wasn’t moved by all his acts. She wasn’t so stupid to fall for his petty tricks.

Sharon didn’t bother to say a thing, she merely watched him while he directed his play

When she was satisfied with watching, she opened up a bag and took out the divorce papers placing them in Andrew’s hands.

“Let's get a divorce, honey.”  She told him with a smile on her face.

Andrew's jaw instantly slackened.

He looked at the paper where Sharon's signature was already inserted. He panicked even more. That wasn’t his plan with Aria and they were just married today.

Sharon had asked the driver to stop over at the law firm on her way to the hotel.

“D-divorce? What are you talking about? Why should we divorce, there was nothing wrong with us.” Andrew stammered, he couldn’t believe his ears

Sharon didn’t bother to give any explanation, she took a turn heading back to the car.

“You crazy bitch, you thought you can just use me and dumb, why would we get married and divorce in just a day?” Andrew wanted to attack Sharon from behind but Remo who was around knowing something of such would happen instantly intervened.

With just a slap, Andrew fell to the ground.

Sharon seeing the situation only sighed and walked away

She suddenly stopped halfway turning back to Andrew.

“I hope you have a great honeymoon with my darling sister in her bed,” Sharon said and Andrew's face was instantly discolored.

She walked back to the car. Remo opened up the car door and she quietly got in.

The drive back to Mathew’s house was a little long, Sharon had her eyes out of the window trying to send back her tears that were threatening to fall.

She felt really bad, she was heartbroken. She was really in love with Andrew, he was her first love, what had she done to deserve such a thing from him?

Finally, the car stopped in front of the familiar house. Sharon alighted and she stepped on the marble floor.

She walked directly to Mathew’s study room

“I’m back to sign the deal,” Sharon told the man who was sitting on his seat like a king on his throne.

In a split second, Mathew pulled out the file from earlier and handed it over to her.

Sharon's eyes scanned through the whole contract again, and when she felt that Everything was okay, she went ahead to put her signature on every line it needed to be put.

She returned the contract to Mathew who went through the document, making sure she didn't miss a spot, when he was satisfied, he put it back in his drawer.

“From now till the contract ends, you'll be staying here with me.” He told her

Sharon nodded lightly. After she had no place to go

“You will be assigned your personal bodyguard and a personal maid.” He added.

“I would prefer one of the bulky men as my personal bodyguard,” Sharon told him.

She knew how crazy Aria and Andrew could be.

The man only ignored her preference.

“If you need anything let Dee know. She is out at the door, she will take you to your room.” He added

Sharon nodded and instantly walked in the direction of the door. She just wanted to reach her new room and collapsed into the bed.

“One more thing,” he suddenly announced stopping Sharon on her track.

Sharon stopped and slowly turned to hear what he wanted to say.

Mathew looked at her closely. “You're not allowed to fall in love with me, it's part of the contract.”

Hearing that Sharon instantly scoffed. She wasn’t ready to ever do that again, She had other things in mind to do and that was her revenge, not even to her ex-husband’s stepbrother.

She detests his whole family

All she needed him for was her revenge, and after a year, she would part ways with him

“You should be rest assured, it would never happen, Not even with someone like you.”

Chapter 141Matthew watched Sharon for a long moment, his eyes searching hers. He could feel a strange mix of emotions swirling inside him, but the overwhelming one was relief. She didn't push him away, not like he expected. She didn't yell, didn't accuse him. She was only calm, almost too calm, like she had accepted whatever it was that had happened between them. It was both comforting and unsettling at the same time.He took a deep breath, pushing aside his emotions for the moment. He could already feel the weight of his decision pressing on his chest. "I’ll be leaving soon," he said quietly, standing up from the chair beside her bed. "But before I go…"He pulled a cheque from his jacket pocket, the crisp paper a stark reminder of the distance between them, both literal and emotional. "I want you to take this," he said, his tone firm yet softer than usual. "It’s $50,000. It’s not much, but it’s something."Sharon looked at the cheque, her brow furrowing. She shook her head, her voi
