Eric stayed silent for a while, he didn't know how he was going to begin and how he was going to not make it all sound insane.

"My parents want me to get married," Eric started. Emma's heart raced, she didn't know what he was driving at or trying to say.

"They want me to get married to my best friend, betty," He said and the words left Emma confused. Who was betty? What marriage? Why now?

"Marriage? How? When? What did you say?" Emma had so many questions and didn't even know which to ask first.

"Our parents are friends and they thought it would be good for business and all," Eric explained.

"So, you're getting married?" Emma asked, tears where beginning to form underneath her eyes.

"I don't want to, but my dad gave a condition. He said if I did, then I will get the C.E.O position that I have been wanting all year."
