His fist connected with my ribs before I could block, driving the air from my lungs.
I stumbled, catching myself against the hood of Victor’s truck. The second guy grabbed me from behind, pinning my arms. I struggled, but his grip was solid.
“Hold him,” Victor said, rolling up his sleeves. “Make sure he doesn’t run.”
He stepped forward, and his fist crashed into my stomach. Once. Twice. Three times. Each impact sent shockwaves of pain through my body.
“This is what happens,” Victor said, punctuating each word with another punch, “when you disrespect me.”
