An endeavor that has slowly become harder to achieve. I have not had the courage to tell Jamari about the darkness deep inside of me that taunts me to take every last drop of Jamari’s power and send darkness throughout the Realms. ARES’ POV Darkness used to be peaceful. But not this time. This time, it was fire. Not the kind that burned skin, but the kind that scorched the soul. My insides twisted with a torment I couldn’t describe—like something ancient was crawling under my skin, trying to claw its way out, screaming to be free. Then—light. A gasping breath tore out of my lungs as my eyes flew open, my chest jerking like I’d been drowning and had finally breached the surface.

She prayed hard. And then she felt him thrust inside her. The skin between her legs was burning as he pounded her into submission. He was literally fucking the life out of her, she felt what strength she had slowly leaving her body. "Yes fear me. It makes me stronger. Fear me!" he shouted behind her. The darkness was creeping into the corner of her eyes. Just as she felt the last of her world going dark she saw a glimpse of wings. Broken and banged, but wings. "Take me home" she whispered, and with that her body gave out.

Yet, no matter how much time passed, I couldn't close my eyes. I'm terrified of the dark, and I lay there, petrified, for some time, before I worked up the courage to speak. "Xander?" He didn't respond. "Xander, please. I can't sleep in total darkness. Can you turn the lamp on?" Around us, the shadows formed frightening shapes, and I had to bite back a cry. I had always found trouble sleeping in a pitch-black room. Back home, I would always leave a lamp on its lowest light or something like that because if not, my eyelids wouldn't meet and my mind wouldn't stop playing tricks on me. Let's not even talk about my petrified heart.

" I exclaimed, laughing and stroking my hair. "It's not my fault! Don't blame others for your sins! You created your own problems!" I yelled at her. "18 years! I endured your abuse for 18 years! You hurt me! Why can't we finish this yet?! Why are you still insisting on sending me back to the dark?! Why don't you let me go?! " I just cried with my face covered.

When he got to the center of the book, the characters became clearer so that he could read a long forgotten story. "... and God's power became weaker. People gave themselves to their despair. Their hearts were filled with dark thoughts. What once shone in the light was bathed in darkness. Innocence threatened to succumb to sin. Heaven succumbed to it Hell. The figures of the night broke in on the innocent and stole their light. Above all ~ he ~. The darkness itself. ~ "Lucifer." ~

Chapter 28 Only silence reigns after that. A silence so deafening that it seems to last for an eternity. “For someone who´s lived in darkness for a thousand years, having lived with a darkness inside herself for a thousand more years before that, I know a considerable amount about it.” “If you´re aware of the darkness within me, then you understand that it cannot fester inside my heart. I must reverse the spell.”
