Though the thoughts about him were forefront now, because I still hadn't come to terms with what almost happened, I had to stop thinking about it now. Maybe later I would take my time to understand it. Maybe. I opened the book slowly, my fingers tracing the frayed and worn edges of the cover, "the chronicle of the six" it stood boldly in gold lettering glaring at me. The letters shimmered faintly and I quickly turned open the first page. "This is the Chronicle of the Six. The first beings born of the moon's light. This record holds their power, their dominion... and the truth before the Great Divide."

In its place was a bright, determined energy. “We heard it,” he chittered, his voice full of wonder. “The question. It’s… it’s enough.” He looked behind him, at the bustling bridge of the Stalwart Friend. “We’ve decided. We’re not just mechanics anymore. We’re going to be scribes. We’re going to travel, help others who are struggling to find their first sentence. We’re calling ourselves the First Chapter.” Tears streamed down my face. They weren't tears of grief or fear, but of a hope so deep it felt like roots anchoring me to the universe.

(b) Chronology of the book The book is told in an Achronological manner. The chapters will alternate between past and present-day events. All the unevenly numbered chapters, that is Chapters 1,3,5, and so on will include present-day events. These chapters revolve around the moment Gregory Stevens went missing and Erik’s investigation into his disappearance.

I tried to push back but wasn’t strong enough. This power was strong! I mentally called out to Michael. I touched the crest on my chest it lite up, I knew Michael would not only feel the burn of it but would know that I was in trouble.
