“You look tired,” Cass stated after the waitress had left. “I am,” Hae Mina replied and let her eyes close. “Stupid nightmares,” she muttered. “Nightmares?” Cass questioned. Hae Mina gave an inward groan. “Yeah. Haven’t you ever had nightmares before?” Hae Mina questioned. She hoped he would not ask what they were about. “I lived with Chin-Sun Noona most of my life, so I assure you, I’m familiar with nightmares especially living ones. Was it bad?”

—Thursday, three in the afternoon. I had difficulty sleeping last night. I slept maybe five hours a best and then it was plagued with nightmares. They were a confusing mash of elements. The beastly creature, the attack, mental institutions, a monster transformation I think, the creature finding me again, and me being caged in a straight jacket. As expected, morale was low upon waking this morning but I was determined to continue my day and to fight this.

“For some, I guess I would. Sweetheart, this is not something I would want to bring you into, but I have no other choice.” “I get that. Always trying to protect me. However, this time I think I need to know so I can help you. Something is clearly bothering you.” She said as she looked into the golden pools of his eyes, and she almost forgot why he was there. She had to shake her head, and she knew she could not get distracted by his eyes and the wonders contained in them. “This is not something that is normal, either.” He stated as he looked at her. “A nightmare.”

Different set of eyes balanced on him “How are you dear?” The most elderly woman amongst the bunch asked. “I think I would be fine.” He replied Concern creeped into her face “Why is that?” “I had a disturbing dream in the midnight and I don’t remember anything about it” Chris said with his mouth full of toast bread and a cup of coffee on his hand.

A loud voice of smashing something jerked me from my sleep, and I fell from my bed. Groaning, I looked up to the door from where the sound came. The room door was slung open and three men in black suits were standing at my door. I stood up from the floor as a man reached towards me.

No one except the man. The lights flickered. Static buzzed in the bulbs. Electricity crackled. The carriage was plunged into darkness, just a split second of impenetrable black that filled my mouth, my nose, my ears, like thick, dank water, choking me, drowning me. When the lights exploded back into life, I saw it. A sheen of silvery skin on the man's cheek, harsh white reflecting off scarred flesh. It was a brief flicker of a bad dream. A touch of a nightmare; there and then gone again so quickly that I had to blink away the haze, but I knew I'd seen it, I'd seen him .

We haven't seen the police report to know their names but I will never forget their faces. Jared is lying flat on his back on the sofa with his legs bent. His right arm is laid over his chest and his eyes closed. His breathing is steady and I can tell he has fallen asleep. I breathe a little sigh of relief. I don't think I'm quite ready to talk yet. I walk over to the lamp, which is near his head, to switch it off. When I get closer I notice his body changes instantly. His eyes are fidgeting and his body is getting tense and rigid. He is having a nightmare. Me and Jared never did live together until New York and as soon as we moved in, I noticed that he would have these recurring nightmares.
