Before anyone could answer, two smaller voices cut through the hush. “W.I.L.D.,” Kael piped up, his tiny fists clenched with the seriousness only a child could summon. Everyone turned, eyes darting to the twins where they stood next to their Auntie E. Liora stood up straighter, her curls bouncing as she declared, “It means We Inspire Love Daily.” Her little voice trembled with passion, but it struck truer than any weapon. “Daddy told us. That’s what being W.I.L.D. really is. We don’t stop loving, even when it’s scary. We don’t stop fighting, even when it hurts.”

He was turned away, listening to his friend. A wild, reckless idea took root in my mind. What if...? No. That was insane. That was crossing a line you didn't come back from. But the thought wouldn't leave. The boredom with Mark, the thrill of the forbidden, the sheer, physical pull I felt toward Rafael across the room... it mixed into a dangerous cocktail. I finished my drink, the ice clinking loudly in the sudden quiet of my own head. Screw it.

“Everything I wore yesterday was apparently what he hates. The gothic look creeps him out. I’m so doomed. I’m completely out of ideas. He’s so impossible to please… but God, he’s so hot.” I threw a mini tantrum, kicking my legs under the covers. Lucille watched me with amusement. “What can I do?” I whined. All the Council nodded in admiration of Sierra's brilliant idea. "Did you get that brilliant idea purely from your own thinking, or did you ask Clara?" suddenly whispered Daniel, who had been sitting next to Sierra. Sierra pursed her lips and replied to Daniel's whisper. "You're mocking me, I can be smarter than Clara knows. I just came up with that idea spontaneously, what do you think, it's cool." Alpha Daniel didn't answer and just shrugged his shoulders. However suddenly, Alpha Edward also asked, "Does your idea have any other purpose?"

I couldn't have heard wrong, could I? "You have to. Because that's the only explanation for all your shitty ideas. Since your farts can't find an outlet, they must travel up your spine, into your brain and that's where shitty ideas generally come from." Yes. She did say what I heard her say and she rendered me speechless. Utterly speechless. I soon realized Fake Lizzy was not only peculiar but also flamboyantly frank. Barbarically frank. And simple. That actually worked for me in a way.

Nothing on Earth could tell me that any of this made sense anymore, because what the fuck? How was I going to find someone to get married to in just two weeks? I couldn't just go out there, and pick any woman, that would just be very absurd and careless! I couldn't bring home another clingy ass bitch who would be just in it for a whole life time. I couldn't handle that. Suddenly, a brilliant idea came to my mind, and I clicked my fingers in excitement. "He has an idea. What is it? Spill." My sister Melvin said, knowing fully well that the only time that I clicked my fingers was when I had an idea.

"We could help you brainstorm ideas" Cassia sat quietly, her fingers tapping lightly against her knee as ideas began to take shape in her mind. "I want to create something bold. Something powerful... something that symbolizes breaking free." "Like wings?" Kiara suggested, biting her lip to stifle a chuckle. "Or chains shattering," Quinn added, her hands sweeping through the air in a dramatic gesture. Cassia laughed. "I’m thinking of more abstract elements, but those ideas could work." Soon, the conversation flowed effortlessly, their laughter filling the sitting room.

And then, out of nowhere, this crazy, desperate idea popped into my head, and it was so wild it almost made me laugh. Just then, something sparked in her eyes, that same wild idea that just popped into my head. Yes, my Beta and I can sometimes read each other’s minds. It’s something we have in the Slater Pack’s royalty line. We’ve had it since the inception of our pack centuries ago. "Marry her," she blurted. The air crackled with the absurdity of it. Yes, it was an idea that passed my mind, but it was just that! Just a passing idea! It was totally insane for Alvera to even voice it out and think it to be a sensible thing.

Scratch that… It might be the idea that saves our lives.
