I expressed my gratitude sincerely. Freya painted a family portrait, depicting my mom and dad alongside us and our future baby. I gazed at the two noble and elegant middle-aged couples in the painting. So much time had passed that I could hardly remember what they looked like. I didn't know how Freya knew what my parents looked like, but looking at my mom and dad's strange yet familiar smiling faces in the painting, I felt so touched. They probably didn't expect that they would finally be reunited in this way either.

“The artist was Jessie Carter. He showed me an example of her work and we agreed to give her time in the Gallery. After her passing, only Naomi had them. The early photos showed a little girl in a princess dress standing next to a cold-faced little boy. Gradually, the boy began showing expressions when he looked at the girl. Then came family portraits—with Maldric, Naomi's father, Naomi’s mother, and Atlas's mother. The crowd didn’t know who the adults were, but could guess they were from the two families. The final image was of Naomi in middle school and Atlas in high school, both in school uniforms, looking like something straight out of a teenage romance.

This had a semblance of warmth which you wouldn’t expect seeing as only cold blooded creatures abide here. I pause at a large portrait composed of a family. I’m astonished yet slightly curious, seeing what seemed to be miniature versions of probably Aiden and Hayden. It’s refreshing to see Aiden’s dark eyes full of mirth and life as opposed to the darkness that now shrouds him. As for his brother, Hayden clutches a small white bear, adoration in his eyes as he gazes up at his brother.
