Allen Hurns Novels & Stories

The grand meeting hall buzzed with a quiet, focused energy as Alexandro led Serena inside. The vast chamber, with its vaulted ceilings and heavy iron chandeliers, seemed carved out of history itself. Sunlight poured through the narrow windows, illuminating the carved wolf sigils on the stone walls—symbols of strength, loyalty, and dominance. The moment Alexandro entered, his betas rose from their seats in respect, bowing their heads to their Alpha—and now, to their Luna.

The police had to get involved, there were two police cars out the front of the diner. Ducking under the police tape, Damien stepped into his diner, he was feared by everyone, humans, wolves and vampires alike, he was known as the Blood Alpha and that was not just because Blood is his surname. Her sent hit him sending him into a short sense of euphoria, he had finally found her his mate after, eighteen years of searching he had finally found her.

Maybe I’ll put on a poncho and just go be miserable in the rain. As I’m looking out over the soaked forest canopy, I see a car pull into the driveway. One that doesn’t belong to Baron. It’s sporty but not expensive, and has a vanity license plate: HNG8NCH. Wow. You have got to be kidding me.

“Who comes to search for a job here on a day like this? Today of all days?” My frown instantly melted away and was replaced with confusion. “What do you mean? What is happening today?” “What?” He answered in awe. “Are you new in town?” He further inquired. His question made me remember my driver again. “This is definitely Karma.” “Yes, I am. So tell me what today is.” I answered with clenched jaws. “It’s Alpha Kilhan’s birthday! The man who rules this town. Almost all the clubhouses, hotels, restaurants, and even some hospitals are owned by him. Including the one we are in as we speak.” He praised him, but I remained unfazed.

he said and hung up. I surveyed the area for an hour. It was dark and quiet. Movement on the far corner caught my eye and then I spotted the other two moving closer from the other side. I sighed when I saw Joseph Mendez through the scope. It was a pity, he had real talent. Next to him was Conrad Dillinger, his friend and partner.

“Mrs. Blackthorn, I’ve forwarded the updated partnership terms. Let’s discuss them in person. I’d also like to introduce you to my associate who’ll help coordinate the logistics. I believe that adding that should be a better way to spread your fashion lines worldwide a little faster. -Lorenzo D’Amaris.” I read it twice. The language was professional, but it was the tone that caught me, personal, too personal. He’d only met me once, yet the phrasing carried a strange familiarity, like a conversation that had already started without me. I was still thinking about it when my assistant poked her head in. “Luna, there’s someone here to see you.” “Who?” “He said his name was Mr. D’Amaris.”

About 40 minutes after our arrival a doctor stepped into the room. “Are you Miss Clarke’s family?” He asked. “Yes, I'm her fiancé, Nick Thorn, and this is my brother, Elio.” “Nick, I'm Dr Aleka. Why don’t you take a seat.” “I shook my head, is she alright? Please just tell me if she’s alive.” “Yes, please take a seat.” I did as instruct and took a seat opposite him. I felt a momentary wave of relief wash over me but there was something about his tone of voice and the look on his face that told me something was seriously wrong.

Damien hollers across the course, breaking our stare off and I feel my cheeks burning as I reach up to unclip the first metal part of the harness, turning my hand to stick my middle finger up at Damien as I do so. He laughs loudly, the sound carries across the forest and I'm tempted to push him off the ledge, knowing of course he won't go anywhere because his harness will save him, but it would be nice to scare him into silence. "Don't look at me like that. I'm so happy for you, you know that." He pulls me into a hug when he reaches me, both of us looking in surprise at Cain when he makes an odd sort of feral growling noise, which he almost immediately covers by coughing.

His hesitation appeared to irritate the Alpha further. Harrison stammered and began to cough, clearly struggling to respond to Alpha Riel's question. The Alpha's patience wore thin, and he raised his voice, demanding a clear answer. His frustration was evident, and it was clear that he shared a trait with Hawthorne – a dislike for being kept waiting. In the end, Harrison could do nothing but nod.

He plays the footage from the camera flash he got from the lab. We carefully watch everything in the video. Alpha Tate’s wolf wasn’t comfortable seeing it again, he’s growling and radiating anger energy from his body, but we had to watch it. It’s the only way to know who these scientists are. “There.” He points at the screen. Oliver pauses the video, taking it back a little and stops at the face of one of the doctors. “Isn’t that Justin’s father?” Oliver asks, staring at the screen intensely. He does look exactly like Justin though.
