Love's Last Thread

Love's Last Thread

I growled, "Did anyone ask for your opinion? You're nothing but a homewrecker! You have no right to speak here!" Nadine did not dodge or defend herself. Instead, she just held her cheek and gave Julian a wounded look. She whimpered, "Julian, what's happened to Delilah? Why is she acting this way?" "Delilah! Have you lost your mind? You're acting like a madwoman!" Julian exploded, shoving me so hard that I fell to the ground. Still recovering from childbirth, the fall caused intense pain in my abdomen, and I started bleeding again. I winced, realizing too late that I had not had a chance to clean up after my checkup.

THE SUBSTITUTE MATE FOR THE ALPHA KING

THE SUBSTITUTE MATE FOR THE ALPHA KING

“This place is compromised.” “The thread,” Silas reminded him, gesturing to the shimmering potential on the ground. “We can’t leave it.” “You carry it,” Kairi commanded, his tone brooking no argument. His attention was a locked system, and I was the only program running. He would not be distracted again. A flicker of annoyance crossed Silas’s face, but he bent and carefully picked up the thread. It pulsed in his hand, and he shuddered, a brief spasm of what might have been avarice or profound discomfort.

I said, clutching a sharp knife. "I don't know. I told everything I know" he plead.I can smell a bad smell. He peed in his pants. "Oh really so you don't know the person who hired you to kill her" I said, stabbing his shoulder. "Aahh I don't know. She sent me money. She talked with me from different sims. I seriously don't know. Please leave me" "Aaah " He screamed when I push the knife more and slash his shoulder.

Walking to the guards, I presented my invitation card and they let me through the entrance. As I carefully walked up the stairs, paying attention to every step I took to avoid a misstep and falling down the staircase, I heard a reverberating sound echoing, as the car approached I could hear the low, menacing growl emanating from the exhaust hints at the tremendous power that laid within.

The Billionaire Alpha's Revenge

The Billionaire Alpha's Revenge

"Enforcement agents. Each one represents a dead universe's portfolio. They are functionally indestructible because they are composed of debt itself. You cannot kill debt. You can only pay it, restructure it, or default on it." "Can they be bought?" "They can be redirected. Each Collector is bound by its portfolio's terms. If you can demonstrate that a particular portfolio has already been serviced, that Collector must withdraw. The problem is proving it." Jack's mind was already racing. Seventeen Collectors. Seventeen dead-universe portfolios. Each one a separate line item in the Original Contract. If he could audit the payment history and find discrepancies... "Boss!" Ben's voice erupted th

THE UNBROKEN THREAD

THE UNBROKEN THREAD

I asked. “Found at the centre of the clearing. Snapped clean. Not cut.” Rowan’s expression hardened, but Selene didn’t look away from me. Her eyes were sharp now, analysing every detail, every pause. “There’s more,” the guard added, hesitating. “Say it,” I pressed. “The wolves stationed there won’t step into the clearing,” he said. “They claim something is still… there.” A heavy silence followed. Wrong. Dangerous. The bond pulsed in my chest, sharper this time, pulling insistently, as though warning me of what I couldn’t yet see.

The betas heart: Abiagan [B×B]

Damon asked, his brow furrowing, Derrek leaned forward, eyes sharp. “We picked up a fluctuation in the thread field last night. At first, it was faint, and barely there, almost an impossible phenomenon after subject zero had disappeared completely. But then, two hours ago, we detected a spike of his unique energy thread.” “Thread energy?Damon thought. He hadn't even known he had said it out aloud. Beta Rowan nodded grimly. “And not just any signature. It carried the same strain as subject zero we lost… but…”

the Finality asks. Before I can answer, the gap tears open again and the Collectors return, dozens of them forcing their way in. “We detect multiple reality-breakers in one location,” they announce. “Shepherds who manipulated cosmic law, Void-Dead who broke death, all of you qualify for collection. We’re claiming everyone in this gap for our archive.” The Shepherds and the Void-Dead and the three thousand regular dead all turn to face the new threat. “We were fighting each other,” the lead Shepherd says to me. “But the Collectors are worse. They preserve consciousness in eternal stasis. That’s a fate worse than anything we’ve done to each other.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely couldn't get through it, which genuinely surprised me given the hype. The prose itself is fine, but I found the plot engine kept stalling on what felt like very obvious mysteries that the protagonists refused to engage with for chapters. There's this whole thing with the titular collectors and their methodology that should be riveting, but the central duo spends so much time in internal monologues about their mutual distrust that forward momentum just evaporates.

Maybe I'm just impatient, but I like my fantasy with a clearer sense of escalation. I kept waiting for a bigger, external threat to crystallize, something to force their hand, and it took way too long. By the time the actual 'collection' heist plot got moving properly, I'd already checked out. Friends who adore character studies over plot loved it, so it's clearly a taste thing, but it wasn't for me. I gave up around the halfway mark and haven't felt the urge to go back.
