Hunter's POV The battle was getting out of hand. Time and time again, we were being attacked by warlocks who would shapeshift into different creatures. They were stronger than I had anticipated, but I managed to tell the difference between Warlock and Santiago. Just as I thought we were done for, Santiago shifted back to a minotaur again, charging toward me. "Hunter, watch out!" Alarick yells, holding his hand out. "Not today, asshole!" I hear Axel suddenly come into view. He charges behind the minotaur, jumping into the air, grabbing the monster by the horns, and pulling him down.

As Angel turned to leave, Chris, still reeling from his vision, reached out and grabbed his hand. “Wait,” Chris’s voice was almost a whisper, desperate, his grip firm. “Please… take off your mask. I need to see the face of the man who saved me.” Angel hesitated, a long sigh escaping his lips. But finally, he reached up and removed the mask slowly, his face emerging from behind its dark shadows. “My name isn’t Angel,” he said quietly. “It’s Aiden. Aiden Gorbachev.”

He didn't want to think of the things that happened to her but the fire in him screamed to kill the ones who had hurt her. She was a mystery. He never thought he'd ever get to know anything about her and now she bared her soul in front of him. We said goodbye and I headed to the address Nick had texted me. As I walked into the shop a friendly gentleman greeted me. “Miss Clarke, Mr. Thorn said to expect you.” “He did,” I sounded surprised. “I have the bottles ready for you.” We walked over to the counter, and he showed me the bottles. First was Chateau Montelena chardonnay and the second was a bottle of Macallan 18-year-old double cask whiskey. I nodded, not having a clue. I watched as he boxed the bottles up and placed a gift ribbon around each of them.

The ringing sound of the doorbell follows. “Coming!” I get up and head to the door to find out who it is and what the person wants. I can't think of anyone who will be at the door this late at night. “How can I help you?” I question, scanning the unfamiliar figure I meet behind the door. His All-black clothing makes me instantly suspicious of him. “Are you Valery Hale?” The stranger asks back with his hands behind his back. How does he know my name? “Yes. How can I help you?” I ask again, still trying to decode his intentions.
