Woke something up. Heat bloomed behind her eyes. Her muscles surged, tendons popping. She stumbled, caught herself, and when she looked at her hands— Claws. Small, curved, glinting black in the sun. The rogue charged again. She moved faster this time. She dodged the next blow, spun, and raked her claws across his ribs. Blood splattered. He howled, more animal than man now. His jaw cracked wider, bones shifting under stretched flesh. Behind her, Asher and Bran were locked in a brutal rhythm—Asher was half-shifted, teeth bared, fur across his back. Bran had him by the throat, but Asher twisted and sank his claws into Bran’s thigh, tearing muscle.
