Aurora’s POV The wall I crashed on was supposed to leave my head banging with a headache and maybe leave a bruise, but I didn’t feel any. The wall that had ended my escape somehow looked too soft to be called a wall. And of course, walls never smell like cedar wood and something like mint soap mixed with strong cologne. On the flight, my head throbbed relentlessly. I pressed my palm to my temple, breathing shallowly, wiping tears that refused to stop spilling. “Aurora, we have to take it easy. We don’t have to believe everything she says.” She turned to me, her eyes burning with frustration. “Seriously, Ryan? We have to believe her.
