Theron pointed toward Aira. “The child!” Kael’s heart dropped. Because a faint red glow had begun to spread beneath Aira’s skin. The hunter leader saw it too. And his smile turned victorious. “Yes…” His voice whispered across the battlefield. “The Blood Alpha awakens.” The air around Aira suddenly pulsed with power. And every wolf in the valley felt it. The child inside her had just revealed its strength for the first time.

Then my sight blurred at the edges, the glowing runes smearing into streaks of silver. I staggered forward, gripping the edge of the stone bed as my knees buckled. My wolf howled inside me, not in pain but in need and hunger. Heat flooded my body in waves, coiling low in my spine and spreading outward, drowning every rational thought. My scent exploded into the room, raw and uncontrolled, saturated with need. My heart thundered, but my awareness and reasoning slipped through my fingers. This was the Awakening. My strength drained even as something deeper unfurled. I felt exposed, stripped down to nothing but want. Every breath burned. Every nerve ended in longing. The Blood Moon wasn’t awake

Raven growled, lunging and for a heartbeat her blade shone with faint light, not metal but something deeper, humming with her blood. Malrik’s eyes widened. He pushed her back sharply, lowering his own blade. “There it is.” Raven’s breath caught. “What was that?” Malrik stepped closer, voice dropping to a near whisper. “Your wolf is not your only weapon. Your blood is older, Wilder and every strike you make draws you nearer to awakening what sleeps within.” Raven thought of the cult’s whispers and of the flames she had seen in her visions. “Am I dangerous?” she asked softly.

“Every time I asked, I was met with the same warning: The cursed blood beast must never be awakened. That was Kaelthorn’s decree. No wars with gods, wolves, or witches. No bloodshed to stir the beast that sleeps beneath our veins.” He leaned forward slightly, his eyes gleaming with a feral glint. “But during my uncle’s war against Lucien… something did awaken,” Riven murmured, his voice carrying the weight of both revelation and madness. “I felt it… burning inside me. A hunger that wasn’t mine. Something ancient, savage… alive. The cursed blood beast is awakened in my veins.” Kade’s brows furrowed, his tone dropping into a wary growl. “The cursed blood beast?”

Evan is concerned. "You had nothing to do with wolf until the wedding day. I could tell by your scent something had changed, but it is totally different. Most of us are born werewolves; a few are born as humans and then transform into wolves under some circumstances. "Evan looks at Solomon. "Oh, Evan was talking about my big brother’s mate Charlotte Wood. She was a human and he turned her into a werewolf after they are mating together. But she was just like us now; half human and half wolf. What is your problem?" Solomon tries to mind-link but is refused by Evan.

—THE ANCIENT AWAKENING A blast of energy burst from Ava’s chest—the obsidian pendant burned white-hot. The blood on her skin shimmered, then lifted into the air like smoke. The Moon above turned fully crimson. A voice filled the chamber—not hers. But a thousand voices—women long dead, wolves long buried. “We are the Bloodline. We remember.” “We were never yours to bind.” The silver shackles melted. The Moon Blade cracked. Ava rose from the altar—eyes glowing white. Hair whipping behind her like wildfire. The Elders backed away in fear. The crowd fell silent.

She wants to meet the woman with magical powers. "Grandma how will the lycans wake up?" Thea asked with curiosity shining in her big eyes. "There's a legend that say that the blood of the innocent soul will wake the lycan King up. The soul should be untainted, pure and innocent." Grandma told her. "However, there's a another legend which says that only the mate of the King of lycans can wake him up. They say that her presence will force him to break everything and come to her."

Scratching the back of my neck, my cheeks reddened as I looked away from Al's naked torso, "W.I.K.D is closing in on us, they set camps at night, move fast during the day," I swallowed hard, "And how do you know this?" Amber inquired, she didn't even try to hide her bitter tone, I thought long and hard, realizing I didn't get her name and she did mention not to tell my friends about us ever meeting, I wish to honor that request, she did save my life, twice, "I— I was out catching my breath when I pick up a scent.... blood, so I— followed it... They have humans as some kind of prisoners, doing bloodletting to lure us in. And—" I paused,

The upset, the heartbreak and I listen intently, holding on for what he has to say. “I was standing still, in human form, but my hands were clawed out like I was half turned but had no intention of fully doing so. Covered in blood even though I was uninjured, and I knew it wasn’t mine.” “Maybe it was a past vision, we’ve been up against the vampires and had their blood on our hands so many times these past months” I interject as his emotions start clawing at my insides, his sense of elevated anxiety making me jittery and I wriggle in my seat.
