Banning Books In Public Libraries Novels & Stories

Now, it was time to systematically dismantle the quiet, internal stigmas that still lingered within our own walls. The Library had always been a space of quiet reverence, a sanctuary of leather-bound volumes and hushed, intense negotiations. But tonight, its fundamental purpose had evolved. It was no longer just a room where boundaries were drawn; it had become the forge where societal shame was melted down and recast into armor.

It was supposed to be used only in the day time by special students who couldn’t use the public library for a valid reason. When Anthony started visiting the mini library at night, he used to tip the librarian. But very soon, there was no need to do so because, they were the same. Anthony usually went to the mini library to read supernatural books–especially, books about werewolves. He held his textbook closely so that whenever anyone came close, he would quickly replace it. Not like anyone would suspect him to be a werewolf just because he was reading such books but, he was scared. The day the librarian caught him, he began to stammer.

“Do you know where the library is? We planned to visit it later. Can we also take home the books?” “Yeah, I know where it is. And no, you can’t take home the books. But if you want, there’s a public library where you can check out some books. You have to purchase a library card first, and then they’ll loan you the book for a certain period. If you don’t return it during the said time, you will have to pay for it.” “Ohh! Where is that public library?” Leilani, the ever so bubbly and sociable girl that she is, walked on Luster’s right side. Her eyes were sparkling in excitement.

Ever since what happened on Mon's 'execution', even though no one remembered a thing, Doctor Bai had asked the king to stop any form of literature in the kingdom. From books to tiny strips of paper as long as it contains a letter or two were burned down to ashes, allowing to legalize it only for the castle's own use. "My books! Please don't do this to my store, sire!" cried an old woman to a soldier who was gathering all the books that she was selling in an open area, preparing to get them burned. She was doing her best to stop them from ransacking her store.

"Can we borrow or take the books home?" "Stop playing games, youngster. We are about to finish." The man spits angrily. He examined the book on the table. "The Beast King? You may find more recent editions of books on any bookshelf, this one is out of date." "Recent ones?" I have my doubts. I could instantly understand why this book had been classed as out of date. Most likely, those at the top did not want everyone to come into contact with such information. The majority of people nowadays have only heard about demons. They are unaware of how frightening they were. To avoid public uproar, literature containing specifics concerning demons was banned.

"How do you know all of this?" "I read it in a book. You know, after the class, I got curious and wanted to learn more. Miss Blake only told a short, vague version of the story because they don’t want us to know everything. We’re just students.... But in the book, it was described in detail." "If they don’t want us to know everything, then why keep those books in the library?" "Don’t tell anyone." Her voice dropped. "The books are in the non-accessible section, where students aren’t allowed."

Chapter 16 Hope She was staring at me with a sly look in her eyes. This library was forbidden, I knew it. And now, she would tell Darius about it and I would be stopped from coming here. 'What do I do? What I do? What do I do?' "I see you're into books." Annalise's eyes slowly glanced at the book in my hand. I yelped and hid it behind me with a nervous smile plastered on my lips.

I was done with my touches fighting the inner voice telling me I was doing too much just to go and read in a library where I was banned. Now you might wonder why I was banned, and it's not for the most popular reason. I was a quiet reader. It so happened one day, after I discovered the library in the Darkmoon manor. I went in there to read just like every other person does. My coming into the manor was not accepted by many and the lord over them all was Lucas who still had this resentment against me, back then when we were still younger wolves. I was always fascinated with whatever that was written in a book and it so happened I stumbled upon the art section.

She smiled like I’d just handed her the damn world, then crashed into me again. I barely registered the sound of books toppling from the shelf behind us. "Shit," I muttered against her lips. "We’re gonna get caught." She grinned, breathless. "So? You always act like you don’t care about rules." I huffed. "Yeah, well, I’d rather not get banned from the library. It’s the only place I can actually think." She ran a finger down my chest, her voice dropping into something dangerously close to a purr. "Are you thinking now?"

I can't live my school because it's the only school that get dark-side books in it's library in my town New Orleans. I frequently used to go to library to read about story life of past oracles so I went against Mr John's advice by sneaking into the library to read my favourites untill I was banned not to enter the library anymore. Even though I was banned but he had forgotten that I borrowed a book from the library weeks ago which happened to be the darkest one called The Black Cults because I was eager to know how the black cults kill the Viper in that book.
