He’s gone. And the time on the alarm let her know it has been five days, fourteen hours, and thirty-six minutes. The count was precise, an obsessive tally she couldn’t stop running in the back of her mind. The snow exploded where they’d been standing seconds ago. Alexander gasped, gripping his ribs. “Damn it—this is bad—” Sable knelt beside the rocks, checking her device. “Wrong. This is catastrophic.” She frowned. “They’ve called in the second wave.” Lena’s eyes widened. “What—what does that mean?” Sable pointed toward the sky. A transport drone descended from the trees—twice the size of the others—carrying a heavy containment cage. “For you,” Sable said flatly. “For all of you.”

Immediately she noticed that he was outta sight, she came out from the bed with cautious steps and went outside to peep, to see what was going on. Lots of dead bodies lay on the floor, people were murdered in cold blood that brought shivers down her spine. She couldn't believe that Beta Derek was so wicked that he didn't care about shedding innocent people's blood just for the throne. The room fell silent as Clara stood there, the shattered plate at her feet. Her eyes were filled with shock and desperation, and she looked from Lucas to Camilla, pleading silently for a chance to explain herself. "Lucas, please," Clara begged, her voice filled with desperation. "I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I never intended to come between you and Camilla." Camilla's eyes narrowed as she looked at Clara, her voice filled with anger and distrust. "You've caused enough damage already, Clara. I can't trust you anymore. I want you out of our lives."

The injured girl clutched her head, screaming in panic. "Help! She's trying to kill me!" Blood started streaming down from her scalp. For a moment, everyone froze. However, Janet had the upper hand then, and she did not stop. She grabbed the girl by the hair and slammed her head against the table again and again. Seeing things spiral out of control, even the rich heir started to panic. "Security! Where's security?" He rushed forward, trying to pull Janet away. However, Janet had completely lost it. She grabbed another bottle and swung it straight at his head.

She coughed a bit and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and then took out a bottle of water from her tote bag besides her and rinsed her mouth and hand.
