I pulled a book to read for the rest of the day before I had dinner. The nurse checked on me before I went to sleep. Mother-in-law came to say goodnight which warmed my heart even more and I was left alone, succumbing to sleep.

"But I want to go home and get sleep, Mom." I knew that Laura was worried about me, so I didn't say anything else. We took a taxi and went back to the hotel. However, lying on the bed, I wasn't able to fall asleep at all. Laura held a book in her hand and said, "Mom, how about I read you a story? It'll make it easier for you to fall asleep." "Okay." I closed my eyes and listened to Laura's story. She then began with a childish voice. "Once upon a time..."

I whispered before closing me eyes and falling asleep. ****

He decided to continue reading the book he was reading before he went to sleep. It was already daybreak when Mark decided to sleep. He was so occupied- with the book he was reading- that Mark forgot that he needed to rest. Closing the book, he traced the large printed letters- although the story was agonizing: he nevertheless enjoyed reading the tale of a guy who suddenly had to act as his older twin sister to find clues about her disappearance. After looking at the title for one last time, Mark placed the book on the bedside table, then laid down on the bed to sleep.

Maybe, just maybe, she'll help me find the freedom I’ve been craving. As I lay in bed, my hands and feet crossed, staring up at the ceiling, I was too excited to even think about falling asleep. The anticipation of seeing Mia tomorrow kept me wide awake. I decided to try calming my restless mind with some soft instrumental music, hoping it would help me drift off. After a few minutes, the soothing melodies began to settle my thoughts, and soon, I felt my eyelids grow heavy. Before I knew it, I had fallen asleep, the music still playing softly in my ears, the headphones still in place, as I slipped into a peaceful, dream-filled rest.

She nodded earnestly, her little face serious as she scrubbed away. We then went to their room, where I helped them into their favorite pajamas. Zenith chose his dinosaur ones, while Zendaya picked her unicorn set. “Alright, into bed you go,” I said, tucking them under the covers. “How about a bedtime story?” Their faces lit up, and they nodded eagerly. I sat on the edge of the bed and began, “Once upon a time, in a vast and endless desert, there was a single seed. This seed was special because it had a dream—to become a beautiful flower.”

Before going to bed, I opened my child’s door quietly. They were sleeping peacefully, one arm stretched across the pillow. I stood there for a moment watching them breathe. Tomorrow a package will arrive at our door. A small book from a man who had only just started becoming part of their story. And I knew something important. That small secret between Adrian and me would not stay small forever.

Good choice. I settle into the space beside Lilica as she pulls her duvet over her. She looks up at me with an expectant smile, and I clear my throat before starting the book. It doesn't take long before I hear her snoring. I don't even think it's up to five minutes. Maybe this book is just her sleeping pill. Standing up gently just so she wouldn't wake up, I slip my legs into my shoes as she stirs in her sleep. Once I'm sure she's not opening her eyes or anything, I adjust the duvet on her body before switching off the light.

Chapter 39 "Go to bed baby, I'll come pick you up tomorrow" He said and I nodded like he could see me. "Good night" I muttered. A sigh escaped my lips as I cocked my head towards my laptop. Should I? No. I got up and went to bed immediately. Tomorrow would be one long day. ****

“Adrian, your family is so nice.” Baby lay in bed and looked at Adrian who was reading a book and said. “I know.” Adrian turned over a page and answered Baby’s question. “Do you have to read a book before you go to bed?” Baby didn’t understand why and looked at Adrian in confusion. “Yes.” Adrian was used to reading books. When he was young, Stella told him stories before he fell asleep. Later, he read books by himself, so he didn’t need Stella to tell him stories.
