It was an unexpected declaration of war where the werewolves were at a disadvantage, but that didn't mean they were already losing because the ravenous spirit of these beings was mighty, and they wouldn't be easily defeated. "They ended my brother's life in a cruel manner, so I will carry on his legacy and won't let any of you live. I will create chaos, and your wretched village will be the first to receive the fury of my revenge," Fiona says, creating a black-colored fire in her hand.

Taz turn on a small torchlight which he had taken along with him before sneaking inside the sacred library. Every book in the library was about the blood moon beast. Despite the alikeness of all the books, there was a particular one that caught Taz's attention. It was a grey book with ancient inscriptions. He pulled it out, dusted it and hid it inside his garment and hurried out of the hidden room. Unknown to Taz, as he walked out of the room through the secret door and out of the library, the secret room disappeared and there was no secret library there anymore.

she snapped. Francis flinched and jumped up in fear. “Olivia, tell me what happened,” Felicia said, pointing at her. “It was Francis. He wanted to bully Tyler, so I stopped him.” Francis scoffed. “Lies! The boy attacked me first. He thinks he's special because of his silly backpack, acting like he's better than us.” “Francis, stop lying! Olivia fired back. “Tyler did nothing wrong. He was minding his own business when Francis threw his bag on the floor and tried to kick him.”

I spent almost the entire trip reading through one of the books Peter gave me about the first war. I wasn't a history buff but I knew enough about human history to know that war was one of the worst things a country could face, only I had never really stopped to consider the details. Sitting in the comfort and safety of Cole's car and reading about death and destruction had my body shivering with fear. The book spared no details. Whole chapters were devoted to recounting particular battles listing the deaths and the destruction that occurred and I swallowed hard as I considered that soon we would be going through all of that again. I had closed the book and let my eyes shut for the last twen

"Soon you'll understand what it feels like to lose everything. To have the people you trust become your enemies. To watch your world crumble." He picked up the photograph, studying Dante's young face. "You tried to bury me. But you forgot the most important lesson we learned together." His fingers traced the edge. "Dead men tell no tales. But ghosts? Ghosts come back to haunt you." Somewhere out there, Dante was probably holding Arabelle. Probably feeling safe. Probably forgetting that the most dangerous enemies aren't the ones you know about. They're the ones you've already left for dead. "Sweet dreams, brother." And in the darkness, his smile was terrible.

It was the kind of wrong that slides under your skin without a sound or a warning just a sudden pressure behind the ribs and a tightening in the gut. My wolf surged awake instantly, hackles already up, every instinct snapping to attention. I hadn't really been sleeping, anyway. I’d just been drifting in that thin, fragile space between total exhaustion and being on edge where your body eventually shuts down but your mind never actually lets go. It’s the kind of rest a soldier takes when he knows the fight isn't over yet.

I like taking my time, that way, I can get used to the idea of living with Xander. Sitting behind the counter in the bookstore, I listen to Vincent talking to his cars while I place an order for new books. One of those books is The Art of War by Sun Tsu. I want to read it and see why Alexei loves it so much. My thoughts turn to the BBQ, and I must admit, I enjoyed it a lot. And Rosemarie was right. Everyone seemed pretty normal. I don’t know what I expected. Maybe guns and men smoking cigars while plotting the end of the world?

We have phones for that. My thoughts whirl. Nothing in these books has given me any sort of idea of how I could end this war without being shipped off like a prized pig. Most of it includes accounts of some of the worst battles; ones where too many lives were lost. I’m surprised both Shifters and Wyres have survived any of it.

I browsed the shelves, and I read the titles. Into the fire, A firsthand Account of the extraordinary Battle in Afghan War by Dakota Meyer, Bing West 500 Days, Secrets and Lies in the Terror Wars- Kurt Eichenwald The War for crown and Empire There are all sorts of books about wars here. I paused in front of a book that I deemed the most interesting. I pulled it out of the shelf and stared at it, contemplating whether to get on with it or not. I can choose a much thinner book… The 33 Strategies of War- Robert Greene
