Nate smirked. "Okay then what about prom?" You burst out without a thought. "I could take you." Nate smirks at you flirtatiously. "I'll refer to the previous comment, we are supposed to be fake dating, I don't want either of us to get attached." You remarked. "Fine, I'll find someone else to go with. But you have to reject me Infront of everyone." Nate laughed. "Fine." You also laughed. The next morning the school has been taken over by young adults buzzing about prom, banners appeared overnight with the words PROM! In huge bright letters, confetti everywhere. You're walking down the hall with Tara.

"Okay chill, besty. About the progress, Harvin informed me earlier that they successfully hired people to decorate the whole Gym as the location." "Really?! That's great news girl!" I bit my lips imagining what could it also be like? Would it be fantastic? I never attended prom even before. Well my late high school had one, but no one invited me as a date. So I didn't attend rather, I cried eyes out to Mom. It didn't really affected me that bad since she told me I am so pretty. So so gorgeous and hot, I believe her even though it's just a comfort. "Are you excited?"

Nava whispers while taking me by the arm and leading me into the school gym. There were no lights on within the hallway. Instead, the hallway was dripping with twinkle lights. “Magic within the stars” is our Prom theme. No one can figure out who gave us that theme, only that it was what we were doing. I decided that I was not permitted to complain about it because I was not on the prom committee, nor did I help set up in any way. “It is so pretty!” I squealed out loud to Nava. “Just wait! My friend texted me and told me that inside is even better!” She calls over the noise of the music coming from the end of the hall.

[Rachel's POV] It was finally here. Prom. The night we’d all hyped up for months. And now that it was finally happening, it felt... fine, I guess. For years, I’d pictured this night being perfect. Sparkling lights, slow dances, and more importantly, Ryan asking me to be his date. But as I stared at him across the room, laughing with Natasha and the rest of the popular girls, I just felt like vanishing under the table.

The prom was the last conventional occasion of senior high, and from that point forward, the understudies could begin investing their energy as they wished. Some went out traveling, some ventured out around in getting ready to additional their investigations, some began searching for a task, etc. The vast majority of them would begin doing all that after the prom. Albeit some of them were remaining behind in their old neighborhood, Luke and Jimena had long known one another's arrangements. The distinction in their grades was somewhat enormous.

I said while patting her back like she was a baby. Well she was my baby. I was shitty at giving advice but she nodded to what I said and I continued. "Right now, we have to focus on our lives and the baby's." She sniffed. "Who cares about prom anyway? Just some sick event organized for seniors to find out who was the hottest girl or coolest dude in school. Then, the rest of the students who were not made prom king or queen would be made to fucking live the rest of their lives, knowing that they weren't considered the hottest or coolest people in highschool and shit?"

Chapter fourteen: Prom: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly At school, the promenade dance was just a month away. You might know it as prom, as it's commonly called by American teens. I was now fifteen years old. Junior prom, that mystical evening where awkward teenagers wear their finest attire and attempt to swim the dangerous waters of romance without tripping over their own feet. It's a night filled with glitter, drama, and enough teenage angst to power a small city.

“I don’t know, that's kind of what I was hoping you could help me out with.” Maryan lifted up one of her hands to scratch the back of her head while the other positioned itself on her hip. She stayed that way for a while and I was about to give up hope when she suddenly blurted out. “You know I bet you that both the rose and the ring are from Prom.” “Ahh of course Prom….whats Prom?” She laughed at my cluelessness. “I forgot that you were raised in the wild. I'm sorry Ayah, Prom is a big formal dance for teenagers in high school. The girls wore some big flashy dresses and the guys normally wore tuxedos. There is a lot of dancing, flirting, and sometimes booze.”

she stammered without taking her eyes off of the banner that read, PROM. "It's our prom, obviously," Damien shrugged. "What have you done," Adeline said sharply. "You ran away before I had the chance to ask you to the prom, so I am recreating it. What do you think?" Damien's blue eyes were hopeful. "No, I mean, what have you done to this place? Good god. It looks like the prom from a cheesy 90s film. What is with those lights!" she exclaimed. Damien shook his head. There was no satisfying this woman. "We went to a crappy high school in a shitty town. Do you really think they had done prom better than this? But, I wouldn't know since I missed it," he said.

Proper damn grown up shit. Tate grabs my hand and pulls me. “C’mon let’s go, we’ve got a prom to go to.” As we open the door silver and blue balloons cascade down, bright twinkling lights come on and the path is lit up like a starlit sky. “Wow, this is so pretty.” Tate says. Her folks have put a lot of effort and thought into her prom night, it’s so damn adorable. Cute, man. Real cute. “Mommy, Daddy. Thank you so much, it’s beautiful.” She squeezes my hand and I squeeze back. I am loving the way her small palm fits in my big hand, her warmth pulses electricity through my body. She’s intoxicating that’s for sure.
