“ I woke up an hour ago to pray and study my Bible. I'm alright. I'm just feeling super excited. I honestly can't wait to say I do, to forever with you, Babe. ” Mira blushed at his message. “ What part of the Bible did you study today? And what stood out for you? ” Joseph shook his head, seeing how she had intentionally avoided the last part of the message. I was studying the book of Genesis and chapter 2 verse 18 stood out for me as it says, “ it's not good for a man to be alone. I'll make him a helper out of his flesh. ” Mira ruminates on that verse for a while before typing out a reply. “ God is so filled with knowledge and wisdom, isn't he? ”

I took a breath, trying to calm the tremor in my hands. The choir finished their hymn, the congregation waited and then the pulpit light came on. It was time. I stepped forward, opened my Bible, and began. “Good morning, brothers and sisters.” My voice echoed softly. “Today’s teaching is from the book of First Corinthians, chapter six, verses eighteen to twenty.” I paused, letting the familiar sound of the pages turning settle the air. “‘Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you… You are not your own.’”

He took out his bible and read a passage there. "Psalm 82:1-5: 1 God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: 2 'How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? 3 Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. 4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.' 5 They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken."

Is he gone again? I sighed. I get up to get ready for school and the first thing I do is to keep my bed in good condition. Last night, I remember as I fell asleep, he stayed. Guess I need to make myself always ready to accept that God always disappears and comes back whenever he likes to. But what if he is not coming back? I feel an ache in my chest, as if I was suffocated by its bitterness. Come now. Wake up. I said to myself, patting my cheeks. You are both in a different world. And you are just a puny human. Forget about that. Try to change the view and feel someone who is more human.
