Billionaire's Biggest Regret
Words that I had been beating myself over, I had said them to the man who least deserved to hear them first.
I never told Aria how it had felt, I had never told anyone. Not that I couldn't but there had but there wasn't any time for it. It had always been one crisis or the other— Edward, the threats, Naomi, Vanessa, the wire and somehow in the middle of all of this, a year and half of my own son's life had simply become a fact I carried instead of a grief I was allowed to feel.
And I let myself feel it alone right now, this was all my fault and my mistake. Seated alone with a whiskey at the empty end of a table built for a family that had never once sat around it together.
