After Five Years
It might seem trivial to some, but for me, every life, no matter how small, is worth fighting for.
“If you’re not tired yet,” Julien said as he stood, looking at me with a gentle smile, “I’d like to show you something. There’s a natural spring nearby. According to the village head, the water is clear all year round.”
I nodded immediately. “Of course. I’m curious too.”
We began walking along a narrow path bordered by bushes and trees. Our steps were slow, matching the laid-back atmosphere of this village. There were no honks, no vehicle dust, just the soft rustle of leaves gently blown by the wind and occasionally birds chirping to greet the bright morning.
