He puts on his boots, not bothering to fasten them, and slips out of his chambers.

However as I adjusted to the blindness I saw images almost as though a hallucination or dream was occurring. Before my eyes a younger Bram and Bella were embracing in front of me. He was in a white shirt and she in a peach ballgown, he was pressing a large shining knife into her hands and pointing to a far off piece of the room. She scampered off holding the knife and my vision ended just as violently as it started, in blinding lights.

I let out the air and just watched her figure vanish into the dark empty space. I stood in the dreamscape for a long time. After a while, I realized that I didn't know how to get out. I wasn't going to suddenly wake up. I was still surrounded by nothing but dark empty space with a solid floor. It all felt real enough, but at the same time, I knew it wasn't real. I closed my eyes and willed myself awake. That didn't seem to work.
