Blake ran a hand through his hair, scanning the straps and wires. “We have to stay calm…”

He lets out a whooshing sound and doubles over, falling to the ground. “You deserved that,” I mutter as he groans in pain. Rush has his claws out ready to strike at Alice. “Touch her and I will make you bleed.” He looks at me wide-eyed, “I’m Alice.” she says, offering her hand with a grin. “Alice, are you trying to get yourself killed?” Blaze roars, charging at Rush. I throw up a shield to stop him from connecting. As much as I would love to see Blaze beat the shit out of Rush, I can’t do it.

I hit the 'Ignite' command. A sequence of localized gas bursts erupted from the kiln floor—not explosions, but pillars of brilliant, roaring flame that reached toward the ceiling. The light was blinding, a flash-bang of industrial scale. The "Sonic Screen" shifted frequency, moving from a roar to a high-pitched, crystalline shriek. The mercenaries went down. It wasn't the heat that got them; it was the sensory overload. Their HUDs, designed to filter out muzzle flashes and small-scale noise, were overwhelmed by the foundry’s raw power. They were clutching their helmets, their weapons clattering to the floor.

He just said, “Now.” The quick-witted female in front of the server banks smacked her finger onto a key. "Not an alarm. A switch." Panels slid back with a hydraulic hiss from above. No sprinkler systems. The four cylindrical objects lowered, each with a low-pitched, piercing hum that resonated in your bones. Sonic disruptors. Non-lethals, but totally debilitating

She knew that she gave her all in that single attack and yet her knees couldn’t help but tremble in anticipation. She was hoping that this year, she would finally be an A-rank power user. She has been stuck in rank B since last year, she hasn’t had some progress at all!

Blaze added casually which made Breiy turn to him again. Breiy became thoughtful for a while while he blankly stared at the chopping board in front of him.
