Violets and Ash
In the back of my head, I could hear Lacey screaming at me, but her voice was drowned out by the sensations passing through my body, the scents searing my receptors and the images blinding my vision.
I wasn’t in a hallway, backed against a row of lockers, but was trapped in the girl’s bathroom, the cold tile pressing against my cheek as they pinned me down. The scent of bleach and lemons told me it had been cleaned recently. That was what I focused on as my hold on my sanity began to slip, not knowing that when it finally happened, an entire team of people would be needed to clean the mess I’d made.
His laugh, their laugh, they all sounded the same.
