Vanessa's smile became very sharp. “Oh… didn’t I mention?” she said sweetly. “Syndicates don’t leave loose ends.” A red light blinked above the steel doorway. Then another. Then— BOOM. The entire bunker shook violently as an explosion ripped through the far wall. The metal screamed. Dust shot through the air like a storm. The ground shook under our feet, throwing me backward into Damian’s chest. The lights flickered—once, twice And the room filled with thick grey smoke. Damian grabbed my waist, coughing hard. “Serena! Calm down!”

Well it’s past work hours anyway. Damian’s furious eyes lock with mine as he sends the next text. I roll my eyes, looking away from him and dropping my phone on the table, downing the first of the two glasses completely.

A small red light turned off, then began to blink slowly. "Now!" Damian hissed. I pressed the 'equals' button. Once. Twice. Three times. Nothing happened. No beep. No signal. "Did it work?" I asked frantically. Damian stared at the calculator. "I don't know. It doesn't have a confirmation light." Suddenly, the lights on the jammer turned solid green. The reboot was over. "It's back up," Damian whispered. "We missed our window." I slumped against the bars, defeat washing over me. "It didn't work."

He’s a tamer version of Dante with the right amount of Damien mixed up in one just as deadly combination. Damitri is heavy handed and shot first ask questions later type of guy but I know that even though my guys are like that, with me they are all giant teddy bears filled with nothing but mushy stuff and love. “Call Liam and have him come over and wait with you” Damien says as an order more then a suggestion.

All the pent up energy was rising and it needed to get let out. “Oh, shit. She is going to blow!” Dom said, looking at me and recognizing the warning signs. Damian was driving at 127 mph and the car was shaking. As we came over the hill, I saw an overturned SUV and a full on war breaking out. Vampires were moving around us, and we weren’t keeping up. Damian slammed on the brakes, skidding to a stop about 50 yards from the action.

Michele screamed uncontrollably. Her face contorted in pain, and her teeth bared in a grimace as she frantically reached up to touch the wound. Her hand was stained with blood. It was bright red against her pale skin. "You… you…" Her wide eyes were filled with disbelief as her voice shook with rage. "Adrianna, you filthy bitch! How dare you ruin my face?"
