Bill was staring at me like I’d just confessed to shoving a shiv in my cellmate’s ribs. Spoiler alert: I hadn’t. He leaned back in his chair. The frame creaked like it, too, had had enough of my shit. “So you’re telling me,” he said, slow and deliberate, “that blood all over the wall wasn’t from you beating your cellie half to death?” I raised my eyebrows. “Did I say that?” He narrowed his eyes. “Your hand’s busted. There’s blood on the wall. And Laurent’s lip is split like someone took a hammer to it.”

I tried to look through the dust but all I could do was cough and my eyes were blinded from all the debris lingering in the air. Breathless, Lorenzo answered, "No! Not yet, but pearl all I can see is blood, Lots of it” I froze as I turned a corner, blood, does that mean? My body quivered in fear as I stepped into a pool of red thick blood. It soaked into the white tile in a pool, still warm. The wall was marred with smudged handprints that looked like someone trying to crawl. Iron, smoke, and something worse clung to the air.

On one side was glass doors that led outside onto a deck. I scanned the room and my eyes fell on a man that was stretched out on one of the couches with his head laying on the backrest with a glass in his hand. I couldn't see his face properly but he was wearing black suit pants and white button shirt with a tie that hang loose around his neck. Blood splatters was on the white shirt no doubt it came from the guy that just walked out covered in blood.

As the screen lit up, the ambient light from the device caught a dark smear on the wall near the front door. I turned and stepped closer to the damaged plaster. The metallic scent of fresh blood hit my nose before I even processed the image. I raised the phone and used the flashlight application to illuminate the wall. A single word was scrawled across the pale paint in jagged, crimson letters that dripped slowly toward the floorboards. GONE.

Backing was was tricky but I think I managed to get it. When I was done, Axel started to move away but I caught some splatter against the wall. Grabbing his arm, I forced the light to shine higher up. Slow, I loved it up higher and higher until we covered the whole wall to the ceiling. This room… this room saw a massacre. Blood literally covered every wall. You could see the smear marks where some tried to clean it up.

Jasper The blood was everywhere. It littered the entire hallway, from one end to another. There were even splashes of it on the goddam ceiling, the fucking ceiling. He had made quite a mess. Some of the locker doors were broken and one of the drinking fountains had been disconnected from the wall. I would have applauded if not for the fact that this was a school with children, human children.

For the rest of his life, Jax would never forget the sight that greeted him when he burst into Sarah’s house that night. My dear sweet God. So much blood. The whole room had been overturned, the furniture wrecked. There was broken glass everywhere, and the walls were covered with blood splatter.

Slipping the chip of my card on the sensor, the door pushes open to red stains on the white floor. It forms a pool and drags along in scary circles. Blood?!!

Which meant Tobias had fought. I crouched beside the bed, scanning the floor and there it was. A faint stream of blood trailing toward the wall. It wasn’t Tobias’. It was a brighter color. Fresh. My gaze lifted slowly, catching the wall beside the dresser with a small dent in it, barely noticeable unless you were looking for it. I stepped closer and pressed my palm against it. Hollow. Interesting. I shoved the dresser aside with a grunt. The wood scraped loudly across the floor, revealing a narrow panel in the wall.

I lost count of how many times I'd fallen back down onto the floor. I was covered in what I hoped to God was just water. I finally managed to stand up and steady myself, then pretty much slid all the way over to the wall. I slammed my hands into the wall to stop myself crashing into it face first. I flipped the light switch on and screamed out when I saw what was on the wall and all over my hands. I was absolutely soaked in blood, and my bloody handprints were splattered all up the wall where I had saved myself from hitting it. I didn't want to, but I had to turn around to see what I'd slipped in.
